VIP vs. Store
Submit a feedback petition in game. It was designed this way to prevent people from buying stuff they already have, but maybe they can add in a popup that goes "you have this already as VIP, you sure?"

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
I was introduced to COH/COV by a friend a few months back. After some initial exploring it seemed a lot of fun so I went VIP. My intent was learning which parts were worth paying for, then buying them from the store with points so that if I needed to quit VIP I could continue to enjoy those parts of the game that I liked. NCSoft would get paid for the points to buy what I wanted, and also get paid for the VIP access, so they really have no cause to complain about this. Life and finances are uncertain, I cannot commit to paying VIP forever.
Well, some of what I liked best were some of the advanced archetypes. Widow and Mastermind in particular. With the current sale, it seemed a very good time to buy permanent access to them rather than the temporary (VIP) access that I have. This seems to not be allowed - anything I have a temporary (VIP) access to I cannot buy permanent access to. This pretty much makes me feel like I wasted my time and money buying VIP. I am upset that in this instance, I as a VIP am being treated worse than a non-VIP by being barred from buying permanent access to these archetypes. |

I know this isn't the same thing.
However, why not just enjoy the vip content, and then, when your sub ends, then buy the unlocks for your specific toons as needed?

Because they are currently on sale and he'd like to save some money. If you know that you will want to buy something in the future then buying something now probably makes more sense than waiting until you need to buy it and paying more.
FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.
I did post via the in-game reporting tool. The response was both quick and courteous but the only solution they could offer was 'Buy it at full-price after your subscription expires' as this issue is apparently beyond the GMs, account services, and anyone else save perhaps the development team. Thus, following the advice I have from the GM who responded, I posted my issue here so that the developers might be aware of the issue.
/petition, or /bug?
Now that I think about it, this would be a /bug Suggestion, (can never which it is under until I use the command)

Sure give people a warning that they're buying something they have VIP access to, and make them click through a couple of 'Are You SURE?' screen. Even better, also check the account's reward tree status, and stop people buying things they already have unlocked at their point on the tree.
Sadly, I suspect that the Market probably isn't capable of doing either of those, and isn't flexible enough to be changed to do them, either.

Just wanted to chime in with agreement. My wife's VIP subscription is ending soon and she has just enough points to purchase the on-sale Dual Pistols that all her characters use; but the Paragon Market won't allow her to buy it because technically she's still a VIP.
