Where is Praetoria

It is also possible that the Hamidon Wars led to the geography of the United States (And the world) being MASSIVELY transformed. I mean, look at Eden. If PRIMAL Hamidon could do that, what is the PRAETORIAN Hamidon capable of?

So Hamidon and the Devouring Earth, can't swim? Where are the Rikits?

I was thinking, Praetorian Hamidon was the good version :P eating away evil, or what ever it does.

The Rikti never invaded Praetoria, although they know of Praetoria's existence.

Rikits? Do you mean Rikti? Apparently, for some reason, the Rikti never attacked Praetorian Earth, only Primal Earth.

Also, both Primal and Praetorian Hamidon have the same motivation: the eradication of humanity, therefore both are evil.

To add to the fun/confusion, Mother Mayhem's hospital in First Ward looks like the Danvers State Mental Hospital in northeastern Massachusetts.

Though to be fair, Arkham Asylum is also deliberately modeled after Danvers State... because it was a hospital for the criminally insane built on top of the house of the chief judge at the Salem Witch Trials, had miles of tunnels beneath it, and was haunted.

Which is another neat little mirror universe reference - on Praetorian Earth, normal people are imprisoned in an asylum run by the criminally insane.

Well, I'll say fungus and plants maybe. Rocks and crystals... lets say, not so well.

There is no Nemesis to instigate a war with an alternate Rikti Earth on Praetoria.

I think it's somewhere in Europe, since the Praetorian counterpart to Excalibur is near First Ward.

There is only one Rikti Earth, just like one Praetoria and one Primal Earth. The Rikti may or may not be aware of Praetoria, but they've got no quarrel with them. For Praetoria to have been invaded by the Rikti, they'd have needed to anger a different parallel world of the Rikti, somehow, which would just be confusing.

On the other hand, both Praetoria and the Rikti believe Primal Earth fired the first shots of the war... which explains their brief alliance (or possibly just the Rikti taking advantage of a bad situation) in the Apex TF.

The Hydra are just a species the Rikti stumbled across during their hunt for Primal Earth, grabbed a whole bunch of, and dumped on Primal Earth. Who knows where they got Rikti Monkeys from. The Rikti are apparently generally quite a peaceful people, if a tad isolationist and xenophobic, unless provoked... then they try to absolutely annihilate their enemies.

Praetoria is in America, not Europe.

It's also the set for the best asbestos-themed horror movie ever filmed that was not directly funded by the EPA.

It's from the spirit world of Night Ward, not the real world of First Ward.

Yup. Session 9. Sadly, the real Danvers State was demolished to put in apartment buildings back in 2006. ... several of which burned to the ground in a mysterious inferno in 2007.

That was a great, great flick. It was nice to see a horror movie you had to think about that didn't rely on an entire orchestra going "HWHONK" every time something relatively unsettling appeared on screen.

Anywho! /derail

I guess that's as good an explanation as any.

Night Ward isn't a mirror dimension like Praetoria is to Primal Earth. The Excalibur he finds there is the Praetorian Excalibur, and it's explicitly stated that the reason it corrupts him when he gets it is because it was itself corrupted by Night Ward. From this we can reasonably infer that it was therefore NOT from Night Ward originally.

It's the Praetorian spirit world, which, like the Primal spirit world, has a strongly Brittish/Celtic flavor - so while parts of Primal Rhode Island go Irish when Salamanca starts going weird, parts of south-eastern Praetorian America go Arthurian when the spirit world starts to encroach on the real world.

But it can quite easily have been taken there after the death of the Praetorian King Arthur.
The Primal Excalibur was returned to the Lady of the Lake after Arthur died - and there's guarantee thatthe Praetorian Lady of the Lake would also be on the good side.

No, Black Swan was just an opportunist that was utilizing the corruption of Excalibur to take control of Pendragon.

Although, considering the Rikti don't know Nemesis instigated the war, but assume it was Primal Earth due to the Freedom Phalanx 'bots that Nemesis used, and while the Primal Phalanx are pretty clearly benevolent, whereas Praetoria has these blatantly non-benevolent near-duplicates of the Phalanx, you might think they'd put two and two together and change their assumptions.

They'd still have the wrong instigator, mind, but at least they'd be closer to the mark.

(BTW, where is it established that the Rikti know of Praetoria? I have a Rikti/Praetoria AE story that's been germinating for some time, and it might affect how I eventually tell the tale.)
