Discussion: Issue 23: Where Shadows Lie goes Live on 5/31/12!
I'm in the same boat. Beast Mastery, Staff Fighting and Dark Control have been keeping me playing CoH pretty consistently over the past few months, but now all those toons are 50 and incarnated to some degree or other. I got Skyrim for the PS3 for Christmas I've only peripherally played around with it...think I might delve into that for awhile.
No knock against CoH: my subscription is annual for a reason, I love this game. I think we all need to take a break from time to time, though. That said, I'll be dusting off my badger (see sig) tomorrow and diving into the new content pretty aggressively over the next few days. |
I don't play Masterminds so Beast Mastery was vey "meh" to me. I'm behind on my Melee sets and I was barely able to afford Street Justice let alone Staff Fighting and I'm not into melee toons...so the only thing holding me over was Dark Control and Dark Affinity in which I've finally finished leveling.
Interesting release date but it's cool. I like the QoL adds but there isn't much else there. Seems like a pretty meh issue. I was at least hoping for some fun with the new costume set but the knight armor stuff seems really lacking; a lot of the actual armour over the chain isn't there Honestly, this might be the first time where I am indifferent about an issue launch.
New release on a Thursday? Are you mad?! I would have expected to see a release on a Tuesday, like after the last Statesman TF and Lord Recluse SF with Statesman in it, not the "New" modified ones for the weekend.
|
Beyond that... while it's nice that's 23's being released, I'd actually planned on running the LRSF this weekend, before it got changed. Prior to late October, I didn't have anything that could do it, and since then, life has been ... well, complete and utter madness, at absolute best, and total hell the rest of the time. This is the first chance I was going to get - and the last.
I'm disappointed from that perspective.

You are right though. I've just been bored of the game lately and the new sets and content would be just what I need to keep playing. I think that I'll just give COH a break and play my PS3 until the new sets drop. |
I also need to really buckle down and find a job before the summer is out, and that means studying and figuring out where to get (and how to afford) certifications. You wouldn't believe how hard it's been to find a place around here that will just let me pay for one or two certification classes without requiring me to sign up for a ton of other stuff and paying over $10K for the "privilege".

There's not a problem at all with that; everybody needs to take a break now and then to keep things fresh. I'm pretty much going to do exactly the same as what Spatch said--grind the bejeezus out of the new stuff on my badgers over the next few days, then take a break and play Skyrim (except on my Xbox instead of my PS3)

Also: a primeval jungle full of dinosaurs and man-eating plants, and like cavemen or a primitive society of some sort. (And yes, I realize that dinosaurs and cavemen didn't exist at the same time... just make the primitives the victims of a time warp or the like, with part of our goal to get them home to their own time or something.)

A rare occasion where I agree with you without wanting to headbutt you at the same time.

Comerora's been added to on and off since it first came out, and it plays a key role in some very important parts of the lore - a medieval zone could do the same, especially if it was linked to Hero 1 and Lady Gray in a similar way to the links Cimerora has to Statesman in the lore.
|
When they originally built Cimerora all it served as was a house for Imperious. He was the only story content offered there. Since then we've only seen three contacts added to it, two of which were afterthoughts that don't offer much in the way of story. I'm not saying Cimerora as a storyline element isn't important, but the devs did not need to dedicate resources towards making it it's own zone. Let's focus on filling the zones we have, and less on making new ones we don't need for five or six issues.
|
Though it's honestly not a case of 'either or'. They're adding new stuff the same time they're revamping old. From that article we know Kings Row is in the works to be revamped in the next few issues, along with one other that was talked about at the Panel (My guess? Independence Port).
I'm happy that there are portals to weird zones. If someone isn't happy not seeing the city layout, by all means, don't use them!
I actually can't conceive of complaining about a QoL upgrade which can be completely ignored. How does one complain about a feature that doesn't remotely effect them?
Devs, THANK YOU for a faster, easier way to travel through these peculiar outlaying region.
Anything you guys can come up with to make the travel time less, and the playing time more, I wholeheartedly support!
I'm pretty sure that Rula-Wade did the murdering.
|
The Devs programmed Wade to murder him, so he can get off with second degree murder, thus with them counting as having orchestrated it.

Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
What time do the Servers go down & come back up in Eastern Standard Time & why couldn't the Devs just list something that was easier to read?
