Hmm pretty interesting story. Irradiated clothes, fractured skulls and ribs and a missing tongue but no signs of a struggle and naked dead hikers this story has got everything.

Good read thanks.

I like the final verdict

The final verdict was that the group members all died because of a "compelling unknown force"

Well it could alternately be snowbound Nazi zombies, but it's the wrong part of the world for that.

Well that was a short wait. Or maybe not. I guess it depends on your definition of decent.

Snowbound Sherpa zombies?

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Sorry, but Yetis are too busy killing people on London Tube.

I really should do something about this signature.

Teeth and skull are wrong, that's not a cat.

True. It's an otter. Short back legs are a give-away. But that's much less interesting...

They died of exposure. There was no radiation, and nothing strange happened.

The second picture is of a dead dog. Sad.

Why do people make up fantastic stories about things that make complete sense and are really quite mundane? This is why religion gives me a headache.

Actually there are some strange things that did happen....

the tent was ripped open from the inside, to dispel the theory of an attack by the indigenous Mansi people, Dr. Boris Vozrozhdenny stated that the fatal injuries of the three bodies could not have been caused by another human being, "because the force of the blows had been too strong and no soft tissue had been damaged". and about the radiation....how do you explain the forensic tests that were done then?

Right. They tore their way out of the tent and ran off in various directions. Happens all the time.

They neglect to mention that the diet of all the hikers consisted of baked beans.

It's called Paradoxical Undressing, it's a phenomenon brought on by hypothermia. Making one disoriented and shedding clothes in a random manner (hence one guy wearing nothing but a shoe) This could also explain the tents being shredded from the inside, as the panic set in those inside would have felt trapped and not been cognitive enough to get out otherwise.

The radiation bit was added after the fact, after the story had started gaining international fame within the conspiracy crowd.

The unusual tans were the result of exposure in sub zero temps.

The only unusual thing about this story is that it has remained classified as unusual for so long.
