Quote:Sorry you lost your job, man, :PPersonally, I find Day massively overrated. Of the things she's been in that I like, Dr. Horrible as an example, I find her easily the weakest part of them.
She strikes me as very phoney. She has cultivated an image as a 'gamer girl' but she's not, she's an actress. Those are two passions that demand so much time and devotion that they're almost mutually exclusive: you're not staying up to 4am to download a new release as soon as it unlocks if you're also on a shooting schedule and making appearances.
Having Mario Bros when you were 10 and playing Angry Birds on your phone between shoots does not entitle you to call yourself a gamer. That makes you as much of a gamer as Vanilla Ice is "from the streets". She makes her money being a poseur for a lifestyle and culture she's not really a part of and I just shake my head at those who buy into it and clap for more. As a gamer who has put in the work and knows actual girl gamers, she definitely does not have g-word privileges as far as I'm concerned.
.
I like Felicia in Eureka. She's as much an actress as Wil Wheaton himself is, which means, no, she isn't on tight shooting schedules all the time. But then again, I never really thought of her as a 'gamer girl', more of an 'Internet girl'. Like Boxxy. -
Yes, the SR taunt aura is weaker than Shield's taunt aura. I think everything except Ice's two taunt auras are weaker than Shield's.

You should do what I do and start with the name. Try the name. Does it work? Great, NOW write the backstory. You're doing it a valid way for a game that hasn't been out for 8 years.

I've never accepted a positive definition for the word 'geek.' A geek bites the head off chickens in a circus sideshow. Nerd, on the other hand, has always been positive.

Some of the new powersets on the horizon contain an Absorb mechanic (think temporary hit points that don't actually get added to your bar). Instead of making a new category of enhancement, they jsut made all 'heal' sets 'heal/absorb'.

Quote:Coincidentally, this is more or less the plot of the book version of The Running Man. If you are the Runner, you have to stay alive for 30 days to win. Everyone in the country is trying to kill you to get the prize for themselves. If killing people for money weren't totally illegal, I would start the greatest reality show ever seen. You make a giant death list of all the other reality TV "stars", and assign a dollar value to them based on just how loathsomely repellent they are as human beings. Then, its a free for all on taking them out. You kill 'em, you collect said dollar amount. It would be sort of like the movie version of the Running Man, except the game zone is EVERYWHERE, and the Stalkers are EVERYONE.

Quote:You never bothered to LOOK AROUND and see the people with the floating arcs on thier backs and ask "Hey, what is that?"GJ Mr DJ. I see you are one of the 'I cant come up with a smart reply to anything using my brain, so instead I will find a collection of dumb pictures and post them instead,' people.
Maybe if the game would let you preview the bits BEFORE unlocking..oh wait, that would be logical. Letting people SEE what they are spending reward points on before hand. Especially since all the store bought bits can be previewed. -
Quote:No, it sounds like he's going to give someone a script and they are going to make the characters hit their marks and say the lines on queue. Demo editing is more like directing than video-editing, as described, although some After Effects work at the end might kick it up a higher notch. I don't know anything about demo-editing, and don't have the free time to devote, though. :/let me try again.
Are you going to give someone a bunch of video and they will do with it what they want?
Are you going to give someone a bunch of video and tell them to trim each to 5 seconds?
Are you going to give someone a bunch of video and a detailed list of edits for them to do? -
Quote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ReoBPl4mMCould always do the sensible thing and make everything CG. In a few years, we won't even be able to tell that there are no actors in a TV show or movie. After all, why pay $50 million for an actor when you can just use computers to generate the actor's image and voice. No problem with them doing controversial scenes or physically impossible scenes since CG actors have no rights.

Doesn't look that way for me.
I get a red axe with green slimy bits. -
Subscribers get 400 points a month, that's a new powerset every two months. Not sure what else you need there. Are you trying to come up with a way for non-subscription to be a valid way to have everything in the game? Because, that doesn't seem to be the intent at all, rather, it's exactly the opposite, that only subscription makes sense. Otherwise you are playing a glorified trial account.

Quote:At this point I just do not see any difference between selling purple sets on the market and them just selling INF so a player can buy sets in game that are not listed on the market yet or just selling a Power leveling service. Heck while they are at it they might as well take custom orders for your choice of AT and how you want it slotted and with what sets. All they need to do is take a mids build and have it auto build the toon for them.
All they are doing now is just slowly selling off the farm. Might as well just kick it into high gear and go all out and be done with it.
I cry DOOOOMMM honestly
Sarcasm? On MY Internet?
It's more likely than you think. -
In the blueside zones, you will see little phone booths with blue lights on top of them. There used to be missions where you had to touch those in a certain order. I occasionally miss those old patrol missions...then I realize that I'm lying to myself.

Quote:For a month or so now, when I log into CoH, I get this strange graphic glitch where the motion seems to stop, then start again. This happens about three times a second. If I stand my toon in front of the door the tram you can see the words rolling across the marquee actually stop and almost back up before continuing.
This glitch is so bad that it makes me not even want to start playing, but instead reboot the game up to 6 or 7 times in an attempt to boot without the glitch. Its bad. Sometimes I'll restart my PC up to 3 times. Usually, but not always the glitch will go away after going thru all that nonsense.
I have a VIP account and have sent multiple petitions while in game but so far am going around in circles with them, so I thought I'd try this next. The PC itself is kinda old but it runs pretty much any game I want. Here are the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6720 CPU @ 2.66 GHz with huge Zalman cooler
MSI board
3 Gigs RAM
Vista 32 Bit
GTX 260 nVidia video card
soundblaster xtreme gamer sound card
Corsair 650w PSU
That sounds like a dying graphics card, but no way to tell without running diagnostics. -
Quote:Pretty sure he resets on Tuesday like everything else that's weekly.Yea, I can't get him to recognize via Oro, via running them with anything other then a BRAND NEW 50 ...
Anything that ran DA content on day 1, is broken it seems. The one time I did seem to make some form of progress, when I went back afterwards, the list was right back to square one.
What day does his list reset? It says I have a week, what day does that reset, Friday? Saturday? You'd think there would be some info on that one floating around.
Any ideas folks?
Thanks

Quote:whoever made the distinction between CoH universe and CoH game had a great point.
I too have my characters in the universe, but not the game.
It struck me the other day when I became "entrusted with the secret" not by talking to a mender but by running up to the top of a pillar on Oroborus. That's why they entrusted me wit a secret?
At that point, don't they kind of have to entrust you? You are standing right on top of their building, after all. -
Quote:When he jumped and saved Dejah (both times) he should have broke most of her bones given that she is adapted to Martian gravity. Also he should have broke most of his own bones on most of his landings since he still has the same mass, just half the weight (therefore, the force he's hitting the ground is the same as a fall from around half the height on Earth, in one case he jumped down about 200 feet). And he should not have been able to jump more than about 16 feet upward (given that the world record is 7 ft 11 in and Mars has half Earth's gravity). And he would have lost most of his muscle mass very quickly as his body adapted to it's new environment. And he should not have been able to break iron chains or stones, tensile strength is just as strong on Mars as it is on Earth. And, most importantly for me, there was nothing in the story that took me out of the story. Nothing that disrupted my suspense of disbelief and made me say ‘wait-a-minute, that’s not how that works.’
Still a great movie, though. It's not like Edgar Rice Burroughs was worried about physics. -
Quote:I know that at least one known Virtue-ite has passed away recently, but several? That sounds... not right.
Actually it's fairly normal, in my experience. MMOs (and text-based MUDs before them) allow people with crippling or even terminal illnesses a chance to socialize and enjoy the company of other people without having to leave their homes or care facilities. I have made friends with many people who have passed on over the years. I remember them for their awesome characters, not their disorders. -
released "Jack of Diamonds", just wasn't happy with any costume option and decided to stop sitting on the name.
-
It's not the hugest deal, but it is limiting me to about one-and-a-half hours of playtime before the game freezes when it hits the magic 1.4 GB mark. Can log right back in but is a bit annoying when I finally get a long afternoon to devote to leveling.

I was kind of surprised that there was no Garden Spider on Virtue, so I snagged the name, with the Crab armor in very bright green and yellow.
