I do love my kitties though.
Hairless cats also come with some problems normal cats don't, such as wintertime issues and sunburns.

Sphynxes can actually be worse than other cats for people with allergies... since without fur of their own, Sphynxes like to cuddle up to you for warmth, increasing your exposure to the allergen.
This indeed; the allergy, from what I remember being told by the allergist, isn't in the hair, but rather in the dander, which has been in contact with glandular secretions.

beacause they knew mean cats. I know very nice cats, i know some cats that will claw you no matter your demeanor or approach. personal experience flavors opinion, but all personal opinion is limited and drawing any larger like or dislike based on such a small sample size is silly. some people dislike dogs, it is a complete mystery to me. I am more inclined to trust someone who doesn't like people than someone who doesn't like dogs.

Rian's talking about my Cinder, I believe. I've got several cats and while three have loving and playful dispositions with practically any visitors, Cinder's... well... others have taken to call her "devil cat" for a reason. Classic vocal black halloween cat. She's daddy's little girl and adores getting scritchies from me (and she's learned to tolerate the missus), but if anyone else gets close to her they magically start losing blood.

Its funny, she doesn't shy away from visitors, she'll give off this odd chirp and dart between their feet acting all friendly, but its all a ploy to get them to TRY SOMETHING. When they do-- BAM! blood fountain.

I think she likes knowing she can instill fear in others.

exemplar? wouldn't that mean you are stooping to the internet's level?

also, chase, well, cinder was one of the ones i knew that can be a leetle violent, but there are others from other friends, and frank qualifies on the "so nice he could be a dog" category.

There are attempts underway to breed true hypoallergenic cats. The idea is to make them so they don't produce the specific protein that humans are allergic to. But as we all know these "Frankenstein" cats will turn evil somehow because if sci-fi teaches us anything it's that genetic tinkering always has a downside.

Less like a salmon and more like a canoe... (-er? -ist?), I don't fight the current and go with the flow. It's easier on the nerdrage, which I can save for the two stupid cats I live with.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

GFY (good for you). In a world where a pizza mogul can have a (mostly) legitimate presidential campaign*, my default assumption is pretty much "other person is a moron". Especially on the internet.

*Hell, in a world where a late night comedian can have an entirely illegitimate campaign and still be taken seriously

No. Not saying the cat would. *I* would. Even small amounts of animal dander trigger a histamine reaction (itching like crazy). When I was still living with my parents, the fact that they had a dog meant I was spending a significant chunk of my income on antihistamines every year just so I could breath.

And going over to my cat-loving aunt's place? I spent most of the time in the bathroom flushing my eyes out.

Think "Scrubbing your eyeballs with steel wool and chlorobenzylidene (CS)" and that begins to describe the sensation.

It's also a bit like good ol' slang... you can pass it under some people's notice while those who catch it get it.
Which is why Some of us will never tell. :-p

I'm going to oppose the OP

no one should be fighting for things on the forums. Fighting breeds ill will and resentment, both in the people being fought and the people doing the fighting. People who fight for a cause get burnt out and upset.

advocating for your position is good.
Standing up for your community is good.

Well, for the first one, Gob got salty and I didn't really wanna go for it, but it's a bit too late now. Not sure why he had to stoop to that, but whatever.

I just wanted him to know he was special to all of us.
