Return of the Crazy 88s ?

So do we want to stay comfy on Virtue, or do we want to dust off the Freedom 88s? (That's going to be a VERY HARD project, if we do it.)

OK. 32 billion dropped off. We are still behind, 1.310 billion prestige to 1.288 billion. So we're 22 million prestige -> 11 billion inf behind.

I've been completely slacking the past month as I've been moving and started a new job... but I'm turning back on the inf engine.

Long live the 88s!!!

Most of my $$$ is tied up in bids on crappy purples right now, but I scrounged a couple billion out of the couch cushions to feed the INFcinerator.

Oh n0ez! We're almost 100 meeeeelion inf down from #1. Got to get to work. Going to throw a billion inf on the fire right now. Will look for more change in the couch cushions when I am not working on leveling so many of my water and titan weapon alts.

I've actually been playing my 88r for the sheer heck of it lately--I have to remember to ditch some inf. at City Hall.

Well...

It looks like the Mayans may have been right - the "world" really IS going to end
this year (for Paragon City, at least).

Perhaps a last Infcinerator bonfire party would be appropriate - I know Granny
has 3 or 4 Billion lying around that she won't be needing in 2013...

I dont know when but I propose we pick a day somewhat close to the final day of the game, gather round the bonfire, and BURN.IT.ALL.

Every last stinking IO goes on the market for 1 inf....every last inf gets burned. NCSoft will delete all my characters with absolutely zero inf or storage....

Well, gents, this part of the game has frankly been my favorite for quite some time. I liked the other parts too, but jockeying for influence that had effectively become meaningless due to enough excess to purple and 3% every character slot on Virtue... that was grand times.

Anyhow, allow me to kick off the festivities with a grand bonfire... I burned like 100B. Which has purchased me the fine memory of being, at least briefly, on the top of the 88s prestige chart.

It's been an honor.

And my grudingly offered Grats to the Crazy 88s, ebil marketeers of the highest order.

A while ago, I got it into my head to see if I could solo a SG into Virtue's top 100 list. And after a few years, I did it! The Stroll then took on a life of its own, and I got the idea to move up the scale. I burned a full 100 billion back in September 2011 and moved to number 11, one ahead of Unknown Heroes!!

Then, that little ebil voice in my head said "Go on! You can make number one!" So I started to ebil marketeer as an almost full time job. I stayed under the radar by hoarding influence. A lot of influence. Some would say, a Gawd Aweful whopping pile of influence!

As of last Saturday, I was sitting on half a trillion influence, enough to have moved me to number 3! With about 3 more weeks, I could have made number one after all this time. But with the sunset of CoH, and peeps cashing in for the last time, its now hopeless to keep trying. But I know I "could have been a contender!" for the title of Most Prestigious SG.

My Grats!! to those that worked the market to their advantage, it was fun while it lasted!!

This explains the person who seemed really mad I was buying up prestige.

While, a mere pittance compared to Plasma's fine effort, Granny tossed a Billion
onto the fire this morning.

According to her accountant she has about 8 Billion remaining in liquid assets
that she intends to contribute at the "End of the World" party (whenever we hold it).
