Return of the Crazy 88s ?

I've got a bunch of inf coming in at considerable speed these days. I imagine some of you guys do, as well.

I've been idly fighting for the #2 position on Virtue with Goat's ... thanks to those who contributed.

Any old 88ers want to get back together and take back #1 on Virtue in a semi-organized fashion? I've thrown in 5 or 10 billion, and I can definitely put in another 2 or 3.

My new projects (since yesterday) are two new SGs on Virtue. Yes, I have my own solo SG on Virtue already (Guardians of Oz) and yes, I'm actually very involved with Hero Force (several divisions). Not to mention I'm currently in charge of a Villain Force division, have my own solo VG (Midnight Maidens), and have one character in a friend's SG and Wall Street Brawler in the Crazy 88's of course.

Still... I felt compelled to create a SG based on my favorite manga... which I won't describe just in case I get threatened with genericdom, but actually it's a fairly obscure reference.

And I was also compelled to make a joke Hero Force SG. I don't know why. HF has various divisions based on the Greek alphabet, Hero Force - Alpha, Hero Force - Beta, etc. And it suddenly occurred to me that there needed to be a Hero Force - Uffda.



And at the moment I have two paid accounts and I just bought 5 more slots for each at the sale price (nearly at 48 slots for each account on Virtue now), and I also happen to have two secondary accounts that are temporarily VIP because I applied Going Rogue codes to each of them this month (bought on Amazon for $2.99 each plus s&h). So that's 24 characters that I can create and add to the new SGs. Most of them will be locked in a couple of weeks, but whatever, I get the bonus for them joining.

The HF - Uffda is just to be silly, but I'm already hard at work on my other solo SG base. I can use the extra storage space, and it's given me something to dump influence into. Don't expect to see me in the top ranks of SGs any time soon though!

And I have a coalition of my three solo SGs, woo! Which is... almost completely useless. But whatever!

I think it's time for Lucre the First to make an appearance...

I've always wanted an 88 alt. Fulmens is the supreme overlord? At some point in the next couple weeks I'll pick someone to add and come stoke the fires with you.

Last I looked we had, like, 10 or 12 billion to catch up.

Granny has a couple billion she can contribute.

... oh. We're 15 billion inf out of SECOND place and a good 50+ billion out of first. (823 million prestige, second is 851, first is 937 .)

That's a little different. Maybe we should do some math before charging at this one.

I'm good for 4 billion, if we decide to do this. Maybe 5. Granny's good for, call it 2. That leaves us... about 50,51 billion short of first.

I wonder what rank I can achieve in the 88s...

give me a day or two for the smoke to settle and I'll send you what I have left, as I just burnt another 100b and for at least a moment my solo sg is #1 on victory

Well we did raise that old nut of, "What happens if we exceed the prestige cap in the game," when the 88s were founded. The game, now, has safeguards in place to protect things when the inf. cap is exceeded/approached. It might not have it for prestige. But then, theoretically, that would be about 2b prestige, wouldn't it?

... about 2B infl away now.

I may have to sent @Goat's half a billion inf to assuage my guilt.

Really, 40B more isn't much for first.

Imagine my surprise... after inviting Plasma and having him bump me from the #10 prestige spot in the SG and bump the SG up to #2, I log on late at night and drop a billion on the fire (brute and stalker ATOs have been very, very good to me this week), and not only do I see that I'm now #12 (surpassed by Lucre), my lonely billion does not move me to #11 again, and, of all things, The 88's are back in the #3 position.

Someobody must have noticed us....

The competition has just gotten a little tougher- Lord Goat just dropped me a note.
We're 38 billion out of second place, maybe more if the American Legion steps up.

Aye, I saw from this thread that I was missing the party and logged on. I had indeed missed the party, as it was just Plas and I. I threw 2b inf. on the fire--but as I was standing there several characters displaying other "high-ranking" SG names kept visiting the registrar...

found 4b in an old sock, so I am donating that to the cause

I threw 4 billion into the firepit and roasted some hot dogs over it.

They were delicious. (We're at 881 million prestige, Hero Dawn is at 979 million, American Legion has retaken first with 1007 million. . .for now.)
