Not being able to post in the market forum has been KILLING ME this past month!

Neander Paul decided to get the fire pit going big enough to roast a side of mammoth. It took 25B. Sandwiches anyone?

And don't look now, but we're at 965m, Hero Dawn's at 1000m, and AL is at 1062m.....

You know I have no idea what inf sells for in the real world....someone that does should figure out how much real money we've burnt so I can die a little inside.

30 seconds with Google says you can buy 10B Inf for $65US. So that 25B that Neander just burnt was.... $160? That's retail, and I have no idea if there's competitors selling cheaper or what rate they're buying at. (Or if anyone's actually buying anything, although I assume *someone* is, or they'd lower the prices.)

It could be an abandoned website or something. I logged onto a very old character last night, and I had 170+ old spam emails. I can tell you what a billion inf was selling for in april 2009, according to They Who Shall Not Be Named (starts with a "g")... prices have been dropping ever since.

A better metric might be "super packs to merits to inf". I don't know the number of hero merits in the average super pack, but 50 HMs gets, roughly,178 million inf (10 converters at around 20 million each, minus 22.5 million burnt making an AM and ten converters) so 25 billion is... around 6000 HMs .

Edited to add: Delicious mammoth. It's even better as sandwiches the next day. I'll have to see if I have anything I can throw on the fire.

logged in Mach 7 to get the anniversary badge this AM, wondered why he didn't have any inf, then remembered he was my Crazy 88's Bagman. =P

You cant expect me to do my own research...I pay people for that, I also pay someone else to be shocked at what they find, I have another guy who contorts my face to the proper facial expression....I cant be bothered to express emotion, that takes time...time=money....and Im not paying someone so I can cry. That seems silly.

Yeah. The thing is, I have so many alts, in an afternoon I can farm up a couple dozen HAMs. The "work" of making influence is really about getting the right supply going in and out of the conversion machine. It's funny though, the market is definitely still shifting. There are some people who are much more aggressive/attentive than I am who are sniping my (in one case by literally 1 influence) on some bids. Interesting stuff. I've been having more fun with the market making influence to roast than I did making it so I could buy stuff, though.

my interest in making inf has outlived the purchase of everything I ever 'needed' in the game- thank goodness the 88's give me something to do with it all!
