Discussion: Live stream at MMORPG of the upcoming Issue 23 Incarnate Trial
Looks like a "tank-n-spank"....we'll see if that holds true.
|
Shadowhunter supposedly has a sequester-like power that he fires at whoever has his aggro when he dies; that person gets phase shifted for 30 seconds or so. So hopefully you have more than one tank.
Pendragon has a "blue pools" power that he supposedly summons from Faerie, seems to work a lot like Battle Maiden's pools of death, but not nearly as many of them. Maybe only one? Taunt him out of it, don't stand in one.
Black Swan seems to have more hit points than Hamidon, or else those portals of hers were buffing her a LOT. Seriously, it took longer to spank her down than it did fully-powered Tyrant.
Tyrant seems to have both Marauder's Nova Fist power plus some ungodly deadly (but telegraphed) cone attacks. If you're not a tank, don't stand in front of him, and step back from him when he telegraphs a nova fist.
BUG REPORT
The correct spelling of the Latin phrase for which the new iTrial is named is:
Sic Semper Tyrannis
Not 'sempre'. Please don't let people who know Spanish attempt to do your Latin translations -- ยกsiempre!

Yeah. And you killed all people in Praetoria in the process. Way to go, hero!

When he said, "now look what you've made me do!", I thought he was going to unleash the Hamidon on us, and we were going to have to fight Praetorian Hamidon and Tyrant together in the last fight.
Hey ...
Speaking of that, as far as I could make out, neither the sonic fences nor the Keyes Island reactors were still standing. Wasn't the whole point of the KIR trial to keep Praetorian Hamidon from getting access to Praetoria and the portals underneath it? Wasn't Prometheus' theory that if that happened, Praetorian Hamidon would swarm through into our dimension and kill us all? Wasn't it?
This is not looking like the best idea we ever had.
I've got to say... I'm rather... not sad, but... upset rather, that Praetoria gets nuked. My characters from Praetoria always hoped to be able to go back, to help the place become more democratic and fair. And now a nuclear weapon goes off above it levelling the entire city?
Maxi Pound will have lost her family, her friends in the PPD, and others. Zahir Rolando will have fully lost the apartment that once belonged to him and his partner, before a Resistance terrorist bombing of a restaurant cost him his legs and his partner his life. Constance Svanhildr will have no IDF to go back to, to try and help rebuild and retrain.
I was always hoping the Resistance wouldn't win and get the city for themselves. But if this is the alternative...
Dang. Major downer.
Yeah, no pancake. I totally did not see that coming, and I'm at a pluperfect loss as to why he thought that that would work. I guess, by that point, he's Mad King Cole.

You noticed that too? heh...
Yeah Black Swan's portals must give her +regen cause it took "forever" for them to take her down.....booooring
I miss the days of "old" Keyes iTrials when there was more than 1 thing to do/watch out for when fighting the final AV.

I have no idea if you're crazy or not, but if it was a mistake, it was a frequently repeated mistake: mmorpg.com's narrator kept saying that beta was going to open up to everyone "in a couple of days."
|
Yeah I heard that as well....so maybe we can haz i23 beta by Thursday/Friday?
I have Friday off so...I'm available

Not to mention whoever was using the 'Paragon Studios' handle kept repeating that the beta would open up this week.
Man that was an annoying chat to read through though.
WHEN ARE THE NEXT INCARNATE SLOTS OPENING? HOW MUCH LONGER MUST I SUFFER?
This certainly sounds like a Pyrrhic victory for Primal, that's for sure. It'll be interesting to see how the Praetorian tutorial goes over once the dust has settled.
Or will the tutorial get turned off? Maybe you can choose to be a Praetorian, but one who got out before the end. I doubt it, but damn, it's going to be bittersweet to play through those arcs knowing it's all for naught, no matter which side of the conflict you were on.
(Thank you to those who were able to watch it and report back to the rest of us.)

- True Loyalist, people who follow the path of Cole ("you can't trust mankind", "look what they did to our world").
- Reformist, people who want to rebuild Praetoria in a better way.
- Pariah, people who find a new home in the Primal Earth.
With those 3 new factions they have fuel to more conflict: conspirations, espionage, old comrades fighting one each other...

Even with Praetoria no more, they can go on with the story. The few people who fled to Primal could schism in several faction:

No. You can still start a praetorian character. That stuff happens in the 1-20 range, iTrials in the 50 range. They're chronologically separate. You just know what's going to happen in the future when you start one is all.
|
I wouldn't put too much stock in "chronologically separate," though, given some of the retcons we've seen in the past.
The bigger issue* is the difficulty in maintaining narrative consistency through repeat playings. I'm really more surprised that they are taking Statesman and Sister Psyche out of the game than I would be with them keeping pre-nuke Praetoria around.
*Bigger in terms of implementation challenge, not as in "OMG this is a big problem!"

I would hope this turns into the launch point of the 30-40 Praetorian content, playing those Loyalist and Resistance characters having to put aside their differences and come together to rebuild and help protect a now much weaker Praetoria. I'd like to see them develop 'choice' missions to accept or reject the help of Primals in that process, much like the DA arcs have changes to them based on choices you make as the story progresses.
40-50 would be more about gearing up to face the Hamidon now that it's aware the city isn't as protected as it once was, leading up to the Praetorian iTrial that is focused on stopping the Hamidon once and for all, again much like the DA arcs are all about gearing up to take out Mot and facing down Diabolique in her trial.
I have a number of 'native' Praetorians that are eagerly awaiting the next installment to their story. I also wouldn't mind them creating Loyalist and Resistance tip missions either, for native Praetorians that want to 'come home' and reinstate their allegiance, and for those that have never left.
And wouldn't it be cool if at 50, you can keep your Loyalist or Resistance status, while still being able to travel to Paragon or the Rogue Isles, Basically like a Rogue or Vigilante?
That's what I'd like to see anyway...
"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.
Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas
Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

I don't understand I thought Shadowhunter was destroyed by Praetorian Hamidon per Tina's post GR arc??
Did they retcon a retcon?
Level 50s: to many to remember at this point
Actually destroyed or just killed?
Apparently, he's one of the main baddies you face in the new Night Ward zone in i23. The zone is supposedly tucked in between the realms of the living and the dead. Maybe he really WAS killed and simply refuses to cross over?
New Zone: Night Ward A Realm of Magic: Dark forces hide in Night Ward, threatening to destroy the world. Night Ward is a Level 30-35 co-op zone where characters encounter strange magical allies and foes. This Praetorian zone is connected to First Ward, and is a realm trapped between the land of the living and the world of the dead. New Mystical and Undead Enemies: Encounter the creatures of Night Ward: the Animus Arcana, sentient spells that crave power; Drudges, who seek to guide souls (living and dead) to the realm of the dead; and the Black Knights, who run the eternal prison that is the Night Ward. The powerful Arch-Villain Shadowhunter also prowls this realm with his deadly army of beasts. |
