I wish we could just trade them, personally. I have two, but can't use them until I have five, and they aren't dropping.

enhancement catalysts as they currently are are pretty useless unless you get lucky on a toon that needs it

Heck, I'd be happy if they were at least Account bound so I could transfer them to an alt that could use it, much less being able to trade or sell them.
I have no idea why they decided this is the way it should be, and I REALLY hope they fix this in a future patch. Even the ATO's that these are used on merely become Account bound... so I really don't get the exclusivity.

I just got one of these today and had no use for it. Wish I could sell it on the market or something.

Maybe they will be useful in some other kind of ATIO set at some stage. Remember that often we find stuff introduced doesn't fulfil all of its function immediately on release.
Empyrean and Astral Merits couldn't buy stuff initially - but now they are a useful currency.
In their current mode, nobody's ever going to need more than 6 Catalysts, which seems rather... pointless. If you get a drop per trial, run 6 and you got all you need. So I strongly suspect they will have some other, yet to be revealed, purpose.

I wouldn't argue against that.
There's a strong case to be made to say that the Catalysts should be transferable within an account but not to anyone.
But I'm ok with waiting for the moment to see what happens

I don't think the devs thought this one out very well. Char bound items with one use and no conversion is well....I don't want to violate forums rules so....
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

For example in just the last few weeks I've had a few characters who have already gotten 2 or 3 of these as drops in iTrials. At that rate they'll probably have the other 3 or 4 they will -ever- need in another few weeks. After that they'll just keep racking up more which will be completely useless to them.
It almost seems semi-pointless for this to be a new "currency" that you only will ever need 6 units of and then never need again. *shrugs*

They need to be either account bound, or up the drop rate.
Since we can't sell or trade these, AFAIk, I'd love to be able to convert them into something. Yes, I know you can probably transfer them to an alt, but it's always nice to have other options.
Oh, and Vanguard merits too. I'm sitting on a ton of them and there's not enough Gr'ai Matter and Heavy Cores in the world.
