Confirmed: not gonna make it this time, and not because of kidney stones, like before. My buddy has Giants tix against the Padres on that day.
Zwillinger will have to buy me a Diet Pepsi when the next one rolls around. Unless of course I manage to make it down there for Friday night stuffz. o_o

I'll be coming with three others to this thing.
So how many people are planning to video this Summit? Is it because some of the last Summit's panels weren't preserved due to being in a secondary room, even though that's not going to be the case this time? Will this be the most well documented Summit/Con ever?
Me? I'm bringing a camcorder because I need to justify having spent money on this expensive toy.

Dinah's Garden Hotel and Trader Vic's both are Handicap Accessible. Since Dinah's Garden conference rooms are in the same building as Trader Vics, I lump the bar into it as well.
There is elevator access from the parking lot into the building areas where the conference rooms are located.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I'm planning on Sunday morning for certain.
If they decide to do an early registration on Friday night I may go Saturday morning as well.
As for Friday night, since I've heard nothing from Red Gren about a Friday night dinner, I may just decide to check out the local live music scene.
Is there any particular place you might be able to recommend for Friday night? I enjoy hearing guitars, mandolins, bass fiddles, etc.

So it would be nice to be able to make it, but sadly I don't think it's in the cards.
However, I *am* at Dinah's Garden this week, as I'm visiting Palo Alto for business. Part of my logic for picking this from the corporate travel booking tool over other hotels was, "Well, if they're doing it there AGAIN this year, the Internet access must have been pretty good to please a ton of geeks."
Hopefully that turns out to be true

If you don't mind a bit of a wait for me to arrive Friday, sure, you can ride with me.
I'm arriving 10:45 AM on Friday and don't fly out until late Sunday (after you), so I can handle that as well.
Fair warning however, my first destination once I get my rental car will be to Schaub's Meat Fish & Poultry for a Fred's Steak Sandwich. I may have desert at the little shop we spotted in October across from Fred's.
I figure with the time of year and the expected weather that the visual treats perambulating around the Stanford Shopping Center should keep my attention quite well. (For those that don't speak D.O.M. that means I expect plenty of eye-candy walking around to keep my neck turning continuously.)

Have to say, this place is a dump on the outside, although it's decently revamped inside. (Trader Vics also makes a hell of a good Mai Tai.)

And just a Note: I almost choked when I read "Registration will begin at 8:30 AM 11/19/2011 at the event." on the Ticket Purchase Confirmation page. Does this mean someone will be dropping an Ouro Portal for us to flashback to registration?
