And you thought a Live Action Akira was out there...
The question remains...
Who will play Rangiku and Orihime?
Also..Chizuru...

Anyway that would be the perfect movie pretty much cause it follows the actual story but I've come to expect much much less from Hollywood they just can't seem to get anime to live action right. So if this ever does get made I will watch because I will have to being the huge Bleach fan I am. After DBZ live action my expectations are low to say the least.
edit: for the record I heard about about a DBZ live action film on the internet all the way back since 2001 and it didn't get released till 2009 and frankly the DragonBall universe is way bigger and vastly more popular so I don't even think this will get made anytime soon.
Live action Bleach? It's already been created...

I'm sure this will be out along with the Hollywood live action adaptations of Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, and Akira

I wouldn't even assume Rangiku would be in it. If they keep anything like the manga the 1st movie I would think would be an origin story you know Ichigo boy who can see ghost one day meets Rukia gets soul reaper powers. Battles some hollows and maybe finish with Renji and Byakuya coming for Rukia and ending with the fight between Ichigo and renji just when you think Ichigo has won Byakuya steps in and almost kills him in like a second and cuts his soul chain, the end.

The movie will be the Female Soul Reaper's Association's trip to the beach! And there'll be volleyball! And blackjack!
I may find it more watchable than the anime, if for no other reason than it would end in relatively short order.

Goodbye, I guess.

I'm more interested in the Death Note adaptation. Bleach suffers from the same problem as GI Joe, Transformers, Dragonball, A:tLAB and X-Men, too many fan favorite characters/moments/mecha that someone would try to stick too much of it into a too short of a film.
Death Note is both easier in concept (write in book, person dies) and overall plot (Light Vs L). I've been following Bleach on AS and just got to episode 240 something. Trying to explain the series and the huge cast of characters to someone who never seen it is nigh impossible to do with glossing over a whole lot.

I really liked Death Note until about the middle of the series. Then something happened that made me completely lose interest. If a film version carried the story out to its conclusion without that event, I would certainly be interested in seeing it.

The Japanese live action Death Note is a two part movie that simplified the plot some.

Bleach is the most hilarious show in television, if you watch it with a few rules. My rules for watching Bleach are simple: Replace all occurances of the word 'Zangpakuto' with 'male organ' (I think these forums bleep the word '*****'), and replace all occurances of the phrase 'Spiritual Pressure' with 'Semen Pressure'.
Every other line of dialog in the show is like this --
"His spiritual pressure is incredible. A spiritual pressure like that could rip the zangpakuto right out of my hands!"
Use my rules and it becomes the funniest show on TV.

New Webcomic -- Genocide Man
Life is funny. Death is funnier. Mass slaughter can be hilarious.
Preface - most of these people can't act their way out of a paper bag.
Ichigo: Alex Pettyfer (lord, I hate that he looks perfect for the role. Atrocious acting in "4")
Rukia: Christina Ricci (short height and hair, wide eyed)
I hate the humans in Bleach. They are all dead to me. Skip.
Byakuya: Eric Bana (tall, regal looking, and obnoxious. Check)
Kenpachi: Justin Theroux (channeling the crazy dude from Full Throttle.... Ew, I can't believe I brought that movie up)
Shunsui: never mind. Stop making this movie. No one can play the awesome that is the Captain of the 8th.
Kenpachi? Adam Baldwin
Aizen? The main guy from Sanctuary. Can't remember his name ATM.
Retsu? Amanda Tapping.
Soi Fon? Morena Baccarin
Old Man Yama? Sean Connery or the leader guy from Terra Nova
Yoruichi? Jo from Eureka
Gin? Sylar
Kisuke? Pete from Warehouse 13.
Rukia? Claudia from Warehouse 13
Shunsui? Nathan Fillion
And this is exactly why these live-action adaptations fail, too many fan favorite characters that have to be in the movie played by actors who don't want 10 line cameos for the amount that the budget could afford.
I agree any Bleach movie to work, at most it goes up to the point where Rukia is taken. Trying to wedge in the rescue, all the captains and lieutenants, the Aizen betrayal, the soul reaper training, the Yoruichi is actually a hot babe, etc just won't fit in a single movie. Make a simple, good, first movie and then hope it does well enough for a sequel or risk getting another The Last Airbender.

Eh, I wasn't saying that's who should be in it, just who I thought would be good for those characters.
I know, it just opens the flood gates of speculation that would eventually lead to disappointment when casting is finally announced and fans become upset that they didn't cast anyone to play X or Y so the film is an automatic fail.

Some more possibilities:
Ikkaku - Ed Norton
Soi Fon - Milla Jovovich
Ukitake - Kevin Bacon
Kanamae - Samuel L. Jackson
Shuhei - Sam Witwer
Yumichika - Neil Patrick Harris or maybe Daniel Radcliffe
Orihime - Taylor Swift, but she is not as...talented...as Orihime.

Also the live action Ghost in the Shell movie is stuck in limbo too.
May they all stay in development limbo.
For those that think Hollywood will get the above mentioned movies right, simply go watch the live action Dragonball movie, or if you really want to have the memories; go watch the first live action Guyver movie......
The only way I can see a live action bleach movie actually working is if they keep it short, sweet and to the point - and NOT give in to the urge to cover any one of the major story arcs. There is just to much detail in pretty much all the main story arcs to do that.
Although the earlier suggestion that they run up to the point where Byakuya and Renji retrieve Rukia and return her to the soul society would work if they could be sure of doing a second movie, I think it would leave to much of a cliff hanger at the end of the movie. While bleach fans would understand anyone NOT familiar with it would be left way hanging.
What they really need to do is the bare minimum to introduce the characters and have some story. Start out with Ichigo first picking up his soul reaper powers, have him get used to slaying hollows then go to the contest between Ichigo and Ishida which ends in him fending off the Gillain. Then end the movie with the big fight between him and the hollow that killed his mother - the fisher. If you put in some reasonable spaced flashbacks to his mothers death you could really get folks into the characters and give the movie as much of a plot as any shonen anime is going to have, at least in anything less than 100+ episodes :-).
The only other possibility would be to dive almost straight into the soul society arc. Introduce all the main characters in the hero group as quickly as possible (Rukia, Ichigo, Ishida, Chad and Orihime), then cut to Rukia being retrieved by Byakuya and Renji, then go straight into an abbreviated version of the rescue. You would have to leave out a LOT of stuff, but so much of early bleach is a lot of flashbacks in the middle of fights that give you background on the characters you could leave a lot of that out - plus all the filler stuff that really doesn't add to the plot (Don Kanonji, various random hollow fights, etc).

IMHO....
The "movie" would have to be a quadlogy.
Part 1 - Start with his mother getting killed by Grand Fisher. Shoot to later, introduce humans and Rukia. Whole movie is a build up for an epic confrontation between Ichigo and Fisher (I realize that doesn't really happen in the manga, like that), movie ends with Byakuya and Renji kidnapping Rukia. Final after credit scene shows her surrounded by Gotei 13 capains and lieutenants. Establish romantic connection between Rukia and Ichigo (the manga is, at it's heart, nothing more than the story of how Ichigo's life changed when meeting Rukia).
Part 2: War on Soul Society. Perhaps call it "Bleach: Those Who Challenge the Gods." epic fighting, Empire Strikes Back as Ichigo and Co delve into the seeming dire circumstances of a betrayal from within. Introduce Aizen at end where he utterly destroys Ichigo in battle. Hougyoko (spell check) removed from Rukia and she begins to die. Ichigo and Co break SS orders and chase Aizen to Limbo (Hueco Mundo)
Part 3: Aizen and Arrancar. In Limbo, Ichigo begins to lose his mind (oh, hai, Hollow Ichigo). Masters it at the end with Rukia's help. Aizen flees to complete his domination of all things.
Part 4: BANKAI EDITION ENDING!
I think I'd rather see them adapt one of the Gundam series into live action.....yes I know there was once a live action Gundam movie, but I think they could make a nice trilogy out of Gundam Wing or Gundam Seed perhaps.

Why?
Because they would depress the hell outta me that we don't have ginormous combat mechs yet. It's 2012! Quit with the impotence and baldness cures and make with the giant space combat mecha already! Do I have to do everything for you scientists?!?!
And while you're at it, throw in the microfusion cells so I can have a plasma rifle already!
Well it seems like Warner Bros. hasn't learned at all...
WB has got the rights to do a Live Action treatment for Bleach!

Not to entirely sure what to make of it. At least Viz has a hand in it, so it may not be too bad...
Thank you for the time...
