Packing up for a new home (server)

Just asking opinions on where I should migrate to. Just started playing some of my characters from my old Home server of Protector and noticing the much lack of teams and PuGs there (much more noticeable since this server houses all of my defenders) and getting tired of it.

I had previously transfered my main from Protector to Exalted when Freedom first started and may do the same for my main villain (but no rush for him). Since the only reason I started up on Protector was because I used to play with forum friends which have moved on, I'm looking for a decent spot to move to.

Of course there's Freedom...already fill that up but I have, like, 7 spare server slots I can unlock. Liberty is my 2nd home which I may see to transferring characters from (but that has a lot more I'd need to move than Protector).

Any recommendations? Before I just ship everyone to Freedom? Is Exalted any good? I play on it but then solo mainly so no idea how teaming is here.

Leo have you joined the Protector TFs global channel? That seems to be pretty active for recruiting for TFs or other group/team missions.

Eldrich is always recruiting for a TF/SF run. Or at least he is when I am on which is mostly weekends in the evening.

Also Protector has always been a small server so setting up teams does take a bit more time and effort.

I haven't had any trouble getting teams on Protector either.

Yes I do listen in on the global channels (although I never found a Protector Vigilance channel...maybe I did but couldn't join it at the time or something) and most of the times I do, there's not much chatter.

I play usually on the weekdays and sunday at variable times and most of the times there's not much talk...and these are lowbie characters, not Incarnate characters.

Not saying protector is dead, it's just not particularly easy to form a team. Sending /tells, broadcasts, channels (even Help channel), or just plain turning the LFT flag on (on a defender, no less) doesn't get me a team when I feel like teaming like it does someplace like Liberty. And this is for primarily just my defenders who conceptually were made to help people, not solo.

Just wondering where is a good spot to set up shop. Servers like Pinnacle, Infinity and Victory go 0% used and servers like Guardian and Champion I haven't set foot in since I first picked up the game with a friend from another MMO. Wherever I decide to go (or stay at) will probably house all my defenders as they're all just 1 character just rolled as different set combos and I'd like to make an informed choice here.

I'm premium, so I don't have access to all the fancy channels everyone is talking about.

I can usually find a team on Protector, but I also have 2-3 good, global friends who seek me out when I am online. What I struggle with is getting into something *I* would like to do, like a respec trial.

When I can't find a team pretty quickly on Protector, I jump over to Virtue and can get on a team pretty fast.

I have good "private channels" on Freedom and Virtue. I gravitated to the Virtue one and that is where I'm home now. But I was on Freedom for years. In many ways I am more at home on Freedom. I am more of a powergamer/powerleveler. My sub-community on Virtue is really high end players though. 4 of us took down a GM in about a minute last night. It was freaking brutal. And it was 4 random members of the channel. "Hey I see Adamastor up in Dark Astoria." "I'm in" "Me" "Let me zone"-I was the late guy, coming over from villain side.

Anyways, if you find a quality channel on any server 90% of your problems re solved right there. Then get some general public global channels. If you like a big population for PUGs (ITrials, DFB, 8-person PUG teams for leveling) then you probably want a busy server. GL

I've been playing on Exalted a bit lately 'cause my SG wants to have some 50's over there, but my home is Champion. I'm not super-active in the 'community' on Champ per-se, but I can vouch that there are a LOT of great folks in it.

The global channels are the way to go. Champion BMT, Champions United, and the Darkguard Network are all good resources with lots of players on them (there are a few other good ones, but those are off the top of my head, so forgive me if they didn't get named).

The thing I like about Champion is that it has enough folks to find teams, but small enough that you get to know names on it. I usually run with my SG and/or I lurk a lot, but I know and have run with a lot of people that are regulars on the global channels, and there are a lot of good folks.

I've heard some say the way folks play on Champion make SG's supurflous for a lot of the players, so it sounds like something you might be interested in for your wayward characters.

Also on protector i never have problems finding teams and the teams sre always awesome make some friends over there and you will have no problem trust me

Seriously, I suggest you make a brand new character on whatever server you wish to move to, and try it out first. Check the server's Global channels, see what is the activity during your normal hours of play, etc.

I mostly play Protector on weekend mornings and/or afternoons and I frequently have problems finding teams too. The Vigilance channel is a lot more active than Watch so if you don't have that you should give it a shot. Over the course of that hour of soloing some Vigil will usually spark up a TF or something even during the deadest times (although I've seen some of those fail to make critical mass). However, the few times I've come in during the evening (or let my afternoon session go long) the place really starts hopping and I never have trouble then.

Good luck finding a server you are happy with. Justice is where all my global friends are and I love it, but I really dig Protector's "feel" and I've met a lot of nice folks there.

If you're still looking for a new server to play on, you may want to consider virtue. We've got players from pretty much every major continent so you can find teams at all hours of the day. Redside is becoming a ghost town but, I can only think of one time in the last couple weeks when there was only one instance of Atlas and there's usually two or three of RWZ (where we gather for incarnate trials), and occasionally multiple instances of a couple other hero zones as well so we're pretty active. Just gotta watch out for the trolls (we have some pretty bad ones), and be mindful of the RPers (not all of them are crazy though).
