And old, no longer around player-based character does make a whole lot of sense, especially someone with a well-known history.

I could see my namesake as a member of the Freedom Phalanx.
As far as I know, they don't have a department that deals specifically with zombies and things of a zombie nature.
I could totally head that up!
And besides, disco suits are rad! (and 20% cooler)

Hero 1 would make for a great addition to, and leader of, the Freedom Phalanx. Of course, that doesn't seem to be the intent behind this contest, so it probably won't happen.
For a player submission, however, I think I'd have to nominate (any) one of Muad_Dib's characters.

Hero 1 giving the old STF. He is healed from the Rikti infection, he will be back at the of SSA. (Part 5 contact was Glacia part 7 is Infernia... so 2+2).
