Super Group Quality of Life Improvements?
Agreed, base items although not important to game play are long over due as well as the extra zone TP...Cim for example.
As for the Sg team modifier, even if you had to buy a power like secondary mutation, then enable it so that it registered you as in SG bonus power mode or something.
Howdy all! Long term player of the game but haven't really found the Forums until recently
Anyway, to my suggestion(s) - hope I'm not overlapping with anyone else's. While I'm loving the ramped up adding of content to the game I feel the Super Group side of the game has been a little neglected of late. A couple things I thought of are: 1. Super Group Buff Some kind of ambient buff, not a huge one but inline with those gained from powers such as Mystic Fortune. A buff that applies, or maybe multiplies, for each member of a given SG on a team. |
2. New Base Items There's a lot of base items, but I think it would be nice if we got a few new skins and items, maybe drawn from Praetoria etc to improve our bases with. |
3. Added Telepad Support There's been a fair few zones added to the world that currently can't be connected to the bases' teleport systems - think it'd be nice if SG's could earn the right to teleport to pretty much any zone from the base. |
I would love to see the SG system be really upgraded and have new features on it to make a SG feel like a Super Group and increase the capacity of the SG.
The increased zone support I was referring to were the Praetoria zones, Shadow Shard, Cimerora etc. I understand these are 'different dimension' zones, however maybe it could be possible for the super group to earn/craft a Portal Corp style portal to these zones
Only QoL improvement I need is the ability to email SG invites. Give me that and I will be a happy camper.

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
question, is there a supergroup base requests thread? where would that be? down below somewhere? XD

This was just back in October - November of 2011 during one of those live online web Q&A's they have. Whatever they're called.
They are dead set against making it easy for us to invite our own alts into SG's. It goes against their concept that SG'a are supposed to be multi-player content.
It sucks and it's a policy I seriously hope they change their minds on.

Base love has been ignored for so long that many in the base community have given up hope of seeing any requested improvements.
Tho I'll admit the new multi-beacon telepads is ray of hope.
1. Super Group Buff

Another option would be Mission Computer repeatables that gave a supergroup buff similar to the faction buffs given for PvP zone missions. Ie, small boosts to +Resist or +Damage or what have you. Nothing really huge or interesting, but it would be something you could do to contribute to your group without having to have everyone online and working together at the same time. I mean, some SGs are just social groups spread across different timezones with radically different levels of play activity. This would give something for them to do to help each other in game that's not gated by herding the cats to be on at the same time.
It doesn't have to be big. Just little things that give more of a feeling that you're in a group working together, rather than just a bunch of people renting a particularly interesting storage locker.
@Mindshadow
It would be awsome if they added a Tech-Tree onto the Super Group System which would make is more challenge and fun to do. Also personal Super Group Mounts or Super Group travel Powers and such which would be something to obtain on The Super Group
it would be something you could do to contribute to your group without having to have everyone online and working together at the same time.

Furthermore the devs are insistent that SG's are group/multi-player content and are dead set against adding anything that assists players using solo SG's, so it's very unlikely they'd even consider this.
Here's a small list of things I'd love to see added to the selection of items that can be put in bases.
Pool tables
Bar stools
Pinball machines
Cue rack (to go with the pool table of course)
The laser lights in the ceiling of Pocket D
Gaming tables (like the card tables found in Pocket D and Studio 55)
The folding lawn chair found on top of house boats in the Isles (unlike many of the chairs in that style available to base builders now, characters can sit in them)
Vending machines
Everything on the above list already exists in game and just needs to be made available to base builders.
I'm for anything that makes bases more fun and functional for supergroup members. If the devs are so bent on this idea of "multi player content" (and they sure seem to be) for bases then it would be nice if they did something to foster that. The only and closest thing we have is the current CoP and it isn't really an SG activity with SG rewards any longer.
I took a survey at the last player summit where they asked what was my favorite thing about CoH. My response was "Doing stuff with my SG... and the fact that you have done little to promote or encourage that makes me cry."
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom (or freem?) fighter; just as one man's exploit is another man's feature.
heres an idea... why not make the mission computer have access to the AE? Furthermore, let SG's count as a player in that there would be sg designated missions able to be posted and saved per sg instead of taking up a characters slots. Ideally the sg missions could have harder objectives or larger sized missions or something.
Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.
All I want is the ability to use the remote auction house access from within my base.
Other things would be nice for the overall quality of the game, but the above is the only thing that I personally want.
I'd want:
The Mission Computer to be worthwhile for everyone. SG missions available only to (or to be started by) SG members to earn stuff for an SG. Solo and group, perhaps even trial. (Of course, you could add others, but some SG rewards would go strictly to the SG that owns/ran the missions.)
More "stuff." Including themes, so I could lock in a "Castle theme," for instance, to look like stonework for a castle and new rooms would take it and the coloring automatically (but be able to be overridden.)
New base editor. I could go into pages on things to do. But base editor revamping doesn't sound like it's coming any time soon.
Better scaled items. I hate having chairs that make everyone look like a little kid.
TVs, "windows," aquariums and the like for walls.
Pay rent from anywhere.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
But that was the whole point behind the original SG buffs. The SG as a Group had to earn them.
Furthermore the devs are insistent that SG's are group/multi-player content and are dead set against adding anything that assists players using solo SG's, so it's very unlikely they'd even consider this. |
Or I can continue wasting server space for dummy accounts.
Be well, people of CoH.

The one on the bottom took over 3000 pieces to build. And I think the dungeon turned was the best part before the base crashed and I had to start over from scratch.
Would you be offended if I said the first thing that came to mind with that second screenshot was Minecraft?
Crashing after that much. Ow.

Forbin WOW I like it. You're a genius.
A in base Costume Designer because screen shakes and other powers are annoying when working on your costume! could even make it a function of the auto-doc.. or another auto-doc like add on that requires a badge to get.
Like 100,000,000 Inf spent on costumes you receive the Diva badge and wardrobe plans
Oh and beds how come arcane gets like four kinds of beds and tech..we get none!

Never played minecraft so no I wouldn't be offended. I'm just glad I had the foresight to take screenshots as soon as I finished. I was in the process of building the burning ruins of a demolished castle in another large room when the base crashed. I pretty sure the problem was that I went over the item limit bases can have.
I'd have torn the darn thing down anyway after the devs "fixed" the SG symbol bug that allowed us to have blank floor tiles. I absolutely despise SG symbols on floor tiles.
I'm glad you like it but there are base designers who are so much more talented than I am. I'm not worthy to even be called a base designer compared to them.
The impressive thing about my castle was the scale I went to rather than clever item placement to create something new.
