I dunno about that but at lvl 50 you can go villan run all the arcs get the merits and sell them for LOTGS make couple hundred mill then go back to hero.
That wasn't the question, Graystar.
To the OP: I just tested it with a Vigilante for you. I was definitely able to access Vladimir Zolner's part of the SSA in Sharkhead. 
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

I did part 5 with my Rogue and got the merit so yes you can I would think

Thanks, everyone! Another quick question: Can F2P players be invited to play an SSA, or do all the members of an SSA task force have to be VIP players?

Note the "SSA Contact" will only only act as a short cut to the SSA contacts of your "native" side (so heroside for vigilantes, villainside for rogues).

If you have a bunch of hero merits from running them as a hero, do you lose them when you switch to Vigilante or only if you go full villain? I've never done that before.
And to echo the other answers, my Rogue can run the hero ssa's so I'm sure a vigilante can run the villain-side arcs.
You would lose any stored, unused alignment merits when you switch to vigilante or to rogue.
Personally for the time involved switching to villain and back to hero and then reconfirming your hero status again... not sure switching just to grab a few extra merits from the other side's SSA is really worth the trouble. But to each his/her own.

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Like others have said you can indeed play the Villain SSA arc with your Vigilante. I recently did that with my Rouge and went through the Heroside arcs in about an hour and a half.
Do keep in mind however that you will not get extra rewards from doing the villain ssa arcs in the same week as doing the hero ssa arcs. They share a cooldown across faction.

I have a level 45 Hero but no level 40+ Villains. If I change my Hero's alignment to Vigilante, will I be able to go to the Rogue Isles and play Villain-side SSAs? Or do I have to go full Villain?
