FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

You do realize that by just posting this question you completely eliminated any chance you might have had to be awarded the badge? The God who hands out badges is rather headstrong in this matter, I'm afraid...

False.

The Dev's have previously debunked the whole 'Ask and you shall never get' myth about Bug Hunter.
They're just never going to tell anyone how to get it. It's a case-by-case thing.

Although by posting a potentially Bug Hunter-worthy bug publically on the forums instead of privately PMing it to a dev, you do cut your chances substantially since it's usually some kind of exploit.

Bug Hunter doesn't induce reporting of exploits among anyone who likes to exploit exploits, and annoys badgers who like to see clear criteria for gaining a badge. They should make it buyable.

The Devs? The universe has Devs? According to the picture in the first post, the original poster was referring to a bug report for the universe, not for this game called City of Heroes.

And I don't remember a single case where God handed out a Bug Hunter badge after somebody posted a bug report for the universe in a public forum.

They should hide the badge somewhere random in the game, and keep moving the location every few days.... Alternatively as soon as 1 person finds the badge, it re-locates.

Seems like it. The way I figure, the weight of the hammer head is so great, the centre of gravity is actually left of the desk edge, so the whole thing isn't just toppling over. The ruler can't bend down to let the wire slide out because the weight of the hammer head is forcing the hammer handle up, bending the end of the ruler up and creating a depression for the cable to be balanced inside, while at the same time the hammer can't slide off through the cable because of the lip on the handle.

Clever.

Heck I'd probably give them $10 or $20 bucks for it. As a business if Paragon Studios doesn't want me to throw free money at them for something dumb like that that's their problem, not mine. *shrugs*

As silly as this idea sounds at least it would be more deterministic than a badge who's only criteria to earn is "a whim of a Dev".

Because it honestly would make more sense to be able to buy it than the way it currently "works" which is almost the very definition of insanity. There should be absolutely nothing awardable in a MMO that hinges on whether or not another human (in this case a Dev) arbitrarily wants to give it to you or not. Put it this way: what if we had to get permission from a human Dev to be able to level a character from level 49 to 50?

The driteria is pretty much based on:

A) Finding a game breaking bug that the dev team had never seen before.

and

B) A dev deciding whether the bug was serious and obscure enough to warrant the badge.

I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...

We've seen the last of the badge. Any further awards would be the devs admitting to making mistakes.

Hey Positron, got TPN fixed yet? I kinda never got to finish that other one.

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me: Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

Yeah, did not thinketh so.
