MIA - Nelson's Extended Staff Fighting Video From The Summit Art Panel

Alright, it's been awhile since the Player Summit, and I still have yet to see this video.

From the Keynote, at 1:39:09:
"Nelson's made an extended video of that powerset that'll be at the Art Panel this afternoon".

Are there any plans of letting us pleebs who didn't/coudn't go to the Summit see this? Or was it an Advanced Sneak Peek for those at the Art Panel, and we pleebs will have to wait until the Official Release of the video?

Demo video: 320 points in the Paragon Store.

I find it... interesting... that I posted this on Thursday night, before I left for a weekend getaway, and return to find no posts from those at the Powers Panel, and no Redname posts.

That leads me to the conclusion that the Powers Panel was an NDA thing, and those who went can't say anything. (And that would also explain why it wasn't uStream'd...).

The Art Panel wasn't uStream'd, so there is no video to post.

Unless someone in the room happened to have a video camera running that I didn't see.

That's very possible since it was in the small room, we were packed in the room like sardines, and I was in the front row. Difficult to tell what might have been behind me but I don't recall seeing a camera setup anywhere.

I know that the Art Panel wasn't uStream'd. However, in the video from the Keynote, it's specifically stated that Nelson (whoever he is, other than a Paragon Studios employee) had a video. My quote comes directly from the video of the Keynote. The aforementioned has not been made available to anyone, and so far, has only been seen outside of Paragon Studios by those lucky few in the Art Panel.

At this point, I'm pretty sure that there is an NDA about stuff from the Art Panel. And that's cool with me, 'cuz I know I'll eventually find out.

I didn't sign any NDA for that panel. I'd have known it if I had.

Nelson Tam is one of the Animators at Paragon Studios. IIRC he's the one that did the animations for the Demons that run around on their knuckles.

I was hoping by now that they'd have posted Nelson's video for Staff Fighting. Maybe this will prod them into posting it.

My previous post was merely to point out that I hadn't seen anyone using a video camera to record stuff during that panel which is likely why none of the attendees have posted a video of it rather than it being an NDA thing.

EDIT: I know that Nelson's Demo Reel on his own website shows several of the Kinetic Melee and Dual Pistols powerset animations. It also shows some items from a cancelled project that may have been an influence on some of the Street Fighting animations.

Man oh man, does the whole "ad pops up every 10 seconds" thing happen during the live streams, too? 'cause that was pretty awful.

But regarding the video itself...Staff Fighting looks pretty tasty.

Every 10 seconds? No. You get an ad when you first start, and then it takes awhile before the next one comes. It even warns you when you're 10 mins. out from the next ad, and gives you the option to watch the ad any time before then...

As for Staff Fighting, it's got my interest, but I'm gonna have to get hands-on down 'n dirty with it... I can't wait!

Is that Staff Fighting or Breakdancing? While your Staff Fighter is spinning around on their back, make sure to make them say, "Whoop, whoop, whoop! Ner, her, her!"

All kidding aside, this set is an automatic purchase for me. I'm guessing the minmaxers will set and forget the Recharge stance as "the" stance.

I dunno, the animations didn't do a ton for me. I'll probably still pick it up just to have some fun with it, though.

It didn't make me watch an ad at all
But it was pretty freaking cool, especially some of the acrobatic moves, including one where the character appears to be rolling on the ground at one point, like some of the more flashy wushu moves. I like this, can't wait to play with it!

I think Kilik got lost on his way to Soul Calibur. Some of those moves are exactly his, including the upside-down foot sweep.

People still allow themselves to see ads on these things?
