Seconded by me and Joyrock for the Naginata.

I'd like to see a large "anime" style mallet for titan weapons, especially since we seem to summon our weapons from "hammer space" (yes, anime nerd to the extreme here)

Some kind of spear option, yes. The attack animations work perfectly for spear-type models.

Trident.

Titan weapons: more medieval options. Case in point:

A high tech/cosmic staff, kind of like the one Starman has.

A regular spear would be nice as well and maybe a wizard staff too.

Staff:

-Halberd

-War Scythe

-Monk's Spade

-Eku (Okinawan Boat Oar. Yes, you read that right.)

-War Hammer/Pole Hammer

Titan Weapons:

-Kanabo/Tetsubo

-Greatsword/Zweihander (Possibly with a 'wavy blade' alt model)

And that's all I can think of for now.

I want one of these.

Simple. Graceful. Understated... And absolutely perfect for making a City version of my favorite tabletop Exalted character.

I wouldn't say no to a Titan scythe, either.

Titan Weapons: Here here on Scythe and more sword options.

Staff Fighting: Must. Have. Broom!

Titan Weapons:
Something meat cleaver-esque. Along the lines of the Organic Sword option for Dual Blades.

A giant maul similar in appearance to the "war hammer" option that War Mace has.

A Vanguard "talsorian" option

A Rikti option, perhaps an upscaled version of the Rikti Axe

Staff Fighting:
A simple, unadorned staff

I'm a fan of Celestial Monkey style in Exalted...so haven't had a chance to try that weapon. Looks awesome tho.

Bamboo wood staff. Does not need to be a "whippy" type of bamboo, since the animations are all for hard wood staves.

Buck-and-a-quarter Quarterstaff. Only needs wood grain texturing, no metal or endcaps.

Babylon 5 styled Minbari Fighting Pike (Denn'Bokk). Scene of Marcus using his beginning at 4:27 on youtube here. Gotta have a "tech" option for Staff Fighting.

Tabula Rasa Guardian Staff ... for those of us who are Tabula Rasa Veterans (or in my case, TR War College Veteran!). Came in Kinetic (Crushing Damage), Pulse (ie. anti-technology EMP), Virulent (Toxic Damage), Electric (Energy Damage), Incendiary (Fire Damage) and Cryogenic (Cold Damage) varieties. Excellent youtube video featuring a Guardian using a Staff here. Note that the Tabula Rasa Guardian Staff was both a melee and a ranged weapon, which if pursued here in CoH could mean developing a Staff Blast powerset which could possibly use the Dual Pistols Swap Ammo system for achieving the variety of damage types seen in Tabula Rasa. And yes, I wore my Tabula Rasa t-shirt and dog tags to the Player Summit. And oh-so-conveniently enough ... NCSoft is still sitting on the rights to Tabula Rasa, so no worries on that front.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

If Staff Fighting is supposed to be Smashing damage, how can you justify using any sort of piercing/cutting weapon? Wouldn't that make it smashing/lethal?

Personally, I just want a Pau Santo staff (guess you guys call it lignum vitae) with the option of having it with or without metal cap endings (Osmium cap endings would be awesome though).

Want to know something funny, Titans is Smashing too. yet it gets SWORDS.

Short answer is: who cares? Realistically the animations would work for a spear, they are a little flashy but it combines stabbing actions in some attacks and smashing actions in others. A spear (or a Naginata) would look fine using the animations and honestly that is what most people really care about. Adding some spear options to "staff" fighting means that people who want a Spear Melee set can get it as well essentially doubling the number of concepts it works for. Given all that does it really matter if the damage isn't perfectly matched to the weapon? I mean, heck, Axe currently has a shovel model and realistically that should do smashing damage, not lethal.

My suggestions:

A plain steel staff.

A plain wooden staff.

Please please please provide players with plain options. Having basic options like this are essential! While the themed options will no doubt be cool, a lot more character concepts will get use out of the plain options.

I was expecting TW to be smashing/lethal to be honest. So no surprise about the sword. Other than size, Titan Weapons does not restrict what kind of weapon is being supersized. Heck, they could make giant beam guns and it would still fit the concept.

Staff however, says staves to me. Not spears, javelins, rods, halberds or other things with hooks or sharp/cutting bits at the end, which possibly apart from Innocuous Strikes won't fit the animations. Still, at the end of the day, it's more options so... meh.

Also: don't limit cosmetic options based on damage type.
