Notice of the Well question

I know when the Incarnate stuff was first introduced, the only way to get a Notice of the Well was to do the Weekly Strike Target TF. Is that still the case or is there an alternate way to get one? Thanks.

It's still the only way. But now you can build the items you needed the Notice with thread components instead.

there is a method to craft one, but its fairly expensive

12.5 mil inf + 1 of each uncommon component + 40 shards

so:

12.5 mil inf
40 shards
1 drop of the well(8 shards + essence of the incarnate)
1 incarnate infused nictus(8 shards + ancient nictus fragment)
1 infinite tesselation(8 shards + dimensional keystone)
1 vanguard dna metamatrix(8 shards + hero 1 dna sample)

if you wanted total shards - (8*4)+(4*4)+40=32+16+40=88 shards

Yeah, constructing Notices is obnoxiously difficult, but note that Alpha powers can also be constructed from the Trial/thread components, as StarGeek said. Select the power you want in the crafting screen, then use the scroll bar on the right (or just expand the window vertically so you can see both recipes).

Edit: Just for the sake of thoroughness, you go to Incarnate Powers -> Convert -> Incarnate Shard -> Rare to make Notices, if you for some reason wanted to do so.

ah thanks, missed the 40 additional shards required, will update post to reflect it

Personally, I tend to build the first two tier 3 alphas with shards and Notices, then use threads and a Very Rare from trialrunning to make the tier 4.

I like to build the alpha T2 with threads (because you tend to have a lot of extra uncommons for trials, compared to a shard uncommon costing 12 shards) and rest with shards. I figure I get the shards eventually through normal playing, and as they don't have any real use beyond alpha, might as well wait rather than "waste" itrial components (speaking from the perspective of someone who's not big on farming trials).

You can also Get a Notice of the Well from running Kal SF in sharkshead. if gives you a temp power that can be exchanged for one just look in the badges tab. I do not know however if this can be done more then once. likely not.

No, it only works once. After you complete the Mortimer Kal SF in Sharkhead, you get the Prometheus badge (I think?) and NotW attached to it that you can claim when you're 50.

What if you have never done the TF before but are already 50? Would you get the Notice?

Based on the mechanism used, no, not directly. But you could claim it right away from the badges tab

Yeah, as stated above, once you complete the SF, the Notice comes attached to the badge. All you have to do is claim it from the badge tab. It's much like how the old Vet rewards used to be. Let's say you got a free tailor token from a Vet reward, you'd have to go into the badge tab and scroll down to the badge to claim the token? Well, essentially, it's like that... Except you can only claim it at 50.

You could. Or you could do like I did and keep the power. I'd rather have the temp power than the Notice, even if the power does nothing.

Can you only pretty much have two Incarnate powers and use one at at time?

You can have every single one of the incarnate powers crafted and available for use. You can even have every single tier of every single type of every single incarnate slot power crafted and available for use. I don't think anyone but someone who is stark raving CRAZY would do that, but it's possible.

You can only have one per slot active at a time.

What Aggelakis said; but keep in mind there is a cooldown on switching slotted incarnate abilities. And you can only swap after you have been out of combat for 5 minutes (Not sure if it is still the case, but if someone on your team enters combat or fires off a power it also affects this timer)... So it's not really something you can swap out on the fly as the situation changes.

But if you have multiple builds, and one may benefit more from Alpha:Spiritual, whereas a second build is better with Alpha:Musculature, you can do that. I prefer the Warworks Lore pets on one scrapper, but that character also has the Seers available for going up against something that isn't as resistant to psy - like Marauder for badge runs.

You can have as many as you want but only one can be slotted at any given time. (One for each Incarnate slot, of course.)

Once of my characters has 3 of the Destiny powers. I couldn't decided which I wanted without 'test driving' each for a while.

Most of my characters have reactive and diamagnetic interface, and i'll probably pick up another for each of them given the new options. Reactive for solo and diamagnetic for teaming because everyone else already has reactive to it becomes worthless most of the time.

Several of my characters have barrier and either rebirth or clarion just to have options.

and one of mine has two lores.

Of course I only have 1 with any T4s, because I don't see those as particularly worthwhile and T3s are so friggin easy to get that it's no big deal.
