COH & The Big Bang Theory
Yes, Captain Sweatpants is wearing a CoH shirt with The Statesman's star.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
The comic shop also has a City of Villains poster hanging up, and I think I've seen a pic with another character in the comic shop wearing the Statesman's star shirt while playing a card game.
I don't enjoy the show, personally. Hits too close to home. Case in point: I had someone tell me last week that I reminded them of "Leonard" from the show, whichever one of the nerds that might be. >_>

He's the one that was pancaking Haley Cuoco's character as well as having pancaked Sara Gilbert's character (again, he'd already pancaked her on Roseanne) and Aarti Mann's character.

i think the show is hilarious because its so relatable, for me its the ONLY sitcom that ive ever really enjoyed watching lol
my GF thinks im pretty close to sheldon, and my parents have told me that their group of people are basically me, a friend, and 2 of my cousins cause were all really that nerdy lol

There was another thread not long ago talking about this as well. Big Bang Theory has a LOT of CoH/V stuff in it.
What really surprised me was in an episode of Chuck this season(Only two episodes so far!) there was a large display stack of City of Villain game boxes in the Buy More.
Chuck has had the large CoV display in the Buy More since early in the series.
I may be mistaken but I think there is also something CoH/CoV related in Chuck's apartment or Morgan's apartment in earlier seasons.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Noticed the CoV display in Chuck in last Friday night's episode prominently in the foreground.

Just to point out, because I love Big Bang Theory, is that it's not a CoV poster, it's an actual cardboard standup.
Also, I noticed that since Leonard and Sheldon bought Ned's sword ie, "I can eat meat this week" aka "the episode with Trinity's daugher in it" if you watch Dexter you can see it hanging on the right side of the door to their apartment (your right on the screen).
And while I'm not like any of the guys in the show, I can relate to all of them in some way or the other.
I always look out for CoH stuff in BBT. Love this show, absolutely my favourite.

I haven't seen the Statesman's star T-Shirt sold in the online NCSoft store in a really long time. I can't remember now if I got mine as part of a schwag kit from one of the events I attended or if I bought it at the Wentworth's store at one of the HeroCon events.
I don't know if they'll have any of the merchandise for sale at the Freedom Player Summit or not since they haven't said anything about it. It would be really nice if they did have a Wentworth's store this year and let us know about it now. It would also be nice to know what would be available for purchase such as the glasses, pins, shirts, etc that they had at previous HeroCon events.
You may want to PM someone on the OCR team to ask about it and if they are going to have the store ask someone to pick up the items from you if you can't go.

I've seen a CoV cardboard standee as well as CoH cardboard standee in the comicbook shop, along with a Freem! shirt and something hanging on the wall that says City of Villains.
Also, while not CoV related, I think it's Howard who has a Lineage or Lineage II poster on his bedroom door.
I've wondered how well people who don't relate to the characters like the show. As an engineer who is an avid fan not only of comic books and video games, but also science in general, I love the show. However, some of my friends, who usually have senses of humor very similar to mine, only find the show mildly amusing.

I'm a huge comic and movie nerd and I love the show and my wife who knows next to nothing about comics or science absolutley loves the show and she is now learning more about comics and other geek stuff which makes me extremely happy.
She doesn't get all the references the show makes but I'm more than happy to explain them to her.

I was a bit of a late-comer to the show even though I am its target demographic. I kept disregarding it mostly on the basis of its name. I didn't realize it was a giant love letter to nerd culture. But I have been a fan now for two years, and it is the one and only sitcom I watch. For me, it is the best thing to come along since Friends.
Comic-Con was a blast for BBT fans two years ago. As a surprise, the Barenaked Ladies came out on stage prior to the panel and conducted a massive sing-along with the crowd of the show's theme song. Good times!

Could be worse. I'm always told I remind people of Sheldon. Which isn't bad to me, I personally admire that character, but people think it's an insult.

As far as references, I also remember seeing a copy of the CoV box in the guys' apartment on the shelf a couple of times.

You aren't wrong you do see some Coh related stuff in it, as well as well, next time you see them on tv at the Comic Book Store, look for a CoV or Coh Poster.

Even though the 800-lb. gorilla has been mentioned several times as a game that they play (and is occasionally part of the plot of an episode) I have yet to see any boxes, merchandise, posters, clothing, etc related to that game.

I've often wondered why the writers have such a love affair with DC comics. I've seen mentions of other comic book properties - Spider-Man and Archie come to mind - but 99% of all comics related discussions/gags relate to DC properties. I wonder if it's a licensing thing, or the writers think DC characters are more recognizable to laymen, or they just prefer DC.

The people that design and build the sets, the ones that decorate the sets, and the ones in charge of clothing are seldom part of the writing team. Similarly, those that write the plots and dialog generally don't have much to do with decorating the sets or costuming.

I was watching The Big Bang Theory and noticed a big guy wearing a star on a shirt, and I was wondering if that shirt is a COH shirt? He is the guy circle in the picture in the link.
