So, who has been feeding the Nightmares after midnight?

Seriously guys, it's not funny.

First time I saw this (actually last weekend, in a "suddenly, out-of-season Zombies!" in Talos), I thought my graphics card was glitching on a defeated enemy. Then I saw all of them spawning that way. Hooboy.

Not sure if it's a glitch (probably, since some of their animations look weird now), but it's pretty cool, honestly.

I for one welcome our new Nightmare overseers and sincerely hope they plan to allow those of us willing to grovel at their HUGE feet serve them while the rest of you are eaten. LOL

Great pics .. I have tried twice now to get a screen shot of them and keep missing it. When they first showed up I happened to acquire one as my next target while I was turned away ... My eyes had to be popping when my character turned and all I saw was BOOT (that's boot not boots)

Tonight I was trying to explain it to an SG member and did say they were HUGE. We did the Dr. Zane Tf and arrived in PI just as a zombie invasion was ending and I saw in all caps .. HOLY CRAP he has just seen his first new and improved Nightmare LOL no idea if this was intentional or a bug but I think it is cool.

/this.

Really, these guys *deserve* the name Nightmare. The "normal size" ones are more... Undead Roadie looking at that scale.

"All of us"? Speak for yourself, stumblebum. They could probably stand to be a little bigger than normal, but this size just doesn't work.

For that particular NPC I'd tend to agree, but I still maintain that I'd love some GMs from PI that size and PLEASE give us GIANT ROBOTS NAO!!!

Since they're just bugs, scaled up foes that aren't suppose to be that way, does that mean attacks aimed at them are scaled up too? Like arrows, spines/thorns and stuff? A condo-sized arrow impaled through them would warrant a new Arch/DM Blaster, Condominium-Arrow. Pulls arrows of any size from who-knows-where using black holes.

Why don't they work Guy.. I have seen other threads here where people have been begging to battle giants and supposedly, at least according to other posters NOT any Devs, it wasn't possible. Suddenly we have giants attacking and we get to battle and defeat them. If its a bug it will probably get fixed eventually If not its another case of the devs taking note of a request made here and giving players what they asked for.. GIANTS

Now the first time I saw and battled the new larger Nightmares I wasn't on a team I was part of a three team league that not only was dealing with the zombie invasion..they were still clicking doors and ToTing. I didn't see any significant increase in lag during all that so what is it hurting to have them that big. I also have yet to hear a negative comment concerning the new size, other than here, in game but have seen numerous comments from other players that enjoyed fighting something that towered over top of buildings.

I say let the Giants live!

Er... not exactly. See, we DO have dev input - basically past a certain size, it's impossible to target (which is why we don't actually fight Ruularu.) The Jade Spider is about as large as they dare to go because of it. (And note that, while Hamidon overall is "large," it's more an area with a bunch of little sub-mobs to fight.)

So these guys are probably scraping the upper limit.

I still like them this way.

Ahh well see that makes sense but if they are scraping the limit ..they are just under it because we didn't have a bit of trouble fighting and defeating them. I was on my Street Justice Brute so I can't confirm the one comment here about huge weapons but I don't recall seeing any 3 story high arrows or anything else bizarre other that a really really big villian to fight.

Obviously .. I like em too

The Nightmares were that size when the Halloween Event was on the test server. Since it wasn't changed when it went live, it could be assumed this was an intentional change.

I like it. It's fun.

I'm with the majority when i say if it was intentional, cool, if it's a bug, let it stay and try to make it a part of the game. If it's causing some game issues, try to make it workable without reducing the size. Seeing a GM like Scrapyard this size would have the "OH CRAP!" reaction needed when seeing them stomping through the city. Using AE as a testing ground to see what issues may come of it is a suggestion.

Before then actually; they were spawning like that on Live from costume salvage triggered zombie attacks.

This does have me curious though. We have always been told that the reason Rularuu is in game but we've never been able to fight him is a targetting reticle issue due to his size.

Since we aren't having any issue with the new giant Nightmares...

Just leaves me curious.
