YOU might want them, but WE don't need them.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Heh, my six year old brother likes to watch me play the game (with me providing excellent voice acting for every NPC we encounter) and is constantly questioning the moral ramifications of what we are doing. Why are we attacking this guy? What did he do? Oh, don't attack them, they're just sitting on a ledge. How do you know they're bad guys? Maybe he lost his keys! Maybe that lady stole HIS purse!

It gets exhausting.

My AR blaster has been known to shamelessly steal a line from Miller's Dark Knight: "Rubber bullets. Honest."

Even my vengeful vigilante ghost cop has the option of not killing; the bullets fired from his spectral dual pistols can not only be guided into impossible trick shots, but also made to cause no lethal damage (bad guys still feel what it's like to get shot, but wake up later with no holes in 'em).

That said, it sometimes feels like events conspire against his efforts to move closer to the side of the angels - like when he was recently sent to stop a street battle between the Council and Nemesis's troops, and found the bodies of several innocent civilians and brother cops who'd been caught in the crossfire. He "stopped" them, all right.

I'm not allowed to attack the clockwork in Preatoria. They are just cleaning the sidewalks. She's usually more receptive to beating up robots, but not those robots.

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

The Silver Spectre is fond of, "He's young. He'll probably walk again."

Guess what happens to her when she hits level 20. Not sure how far over she will go yet, will depend on how the character develops.

What is this a horror, oh please not every game need blood and gore. Grow up, this game is doing good with out it and Movies and TV Shows over do it with the damn blood. Half of the time you get less that amount in a real life event, like a boxing match or street brawl. Video Games also over do it with the blood and gore, it's not real to see all that stuff.

Adding onto the "no' train. I hate excessive blood and gore in video games. This game doesn't need them.

Doc Savage and his team were commonly described as loading their regular firearms with "mercy bullets" that Doc had invented. How these were supposed to work was never investigated, as far as I know, 'cause it was the pulps and they didn't go in for that kind of thing, but their effect was to render the people who were shot with them unconscious but otherwise not harm them.

Mind you, Doc Savage and his team also used to give the villains they captured a delicate brain operation to remove their evilness, teach them a lawful trade, and release them back into society as productive citizens, so these were clearly not books being written by anyone who knew anything whatsoever about science in the first place.

Or Spines or Claws. I have a lot of issues with thinking of the damage I am doing as being superhero-ish. However if I think of them being ported out to the Security Section of the hospital where they only have to patched up and they can stand trial, that is par for the course.

Please god No! No! No! a thousand times NO!

I play these sort of games precisely because there is no blood and gore and I stopped playing 'modern' video games because the inclusion of blood and gore became more and more nauseating.

I think that 5 pages of disagreement with your proposal should give you some idea that maybe, you are in the minority.

Tell him I said to keep up the good work.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

There might be certain power combos where you can tint the power effects so it looks like the opponent is gushing blood on impact, but otherwise I don't think the game will ever officially support the level of detail you're looking for. Especially not to the tune of having the "Bloody Mess" perk from the more recent Fallout games.

And I realize it seems "unrealistic" for us to have guns and blades and giant axes and fire blasting that merely renders a foe unconscious, but it's equally unrealistic for someone to lose ten gallons of blood and a maybe few internal organs and still be standing like some of the more gory games tend to have.

That said, T-4-Teen and F2P notwithstanding, if there were some kind of opt-in that added a bit of blood, i wouldn't be against it. Wouldn't use it on all (or even most) of my characters, but options are always good.

I'm pretty sure that it was explained in at least one of the books that the bullets were glass shells that contained a powerful tranquilizer. The glass cut the skin and allowed the tranquilizer to enter the blood.

I've got the entire series of books around here somewhere in a box though it has probably been 20 years since I read any of them. I wish these books were in the public domain so somebody could release a mega anthology for the Kindle.

And my vote is also in favor of no blood or gore in game.
