Just got finished reading the doc. There are still things I have questions about (that I thought had been asked? maybe they weren't in the doc). The only thing that sucks about this is that we found out this way rather than in the game as content. The bit about the moonbase approval is especially hurtful, because it was approved so recently.

Reading this, I can imagine how much fun it would've been to play out some of these storylines. The Scirocco arc sounds fantastic. My first villain took him as a patron and I loved his arcs then. Seeing it come full circle would've been even better, especially on a scale like it was plotted out to be. I liked some of the potential(? seeing as they weren't set in stone) surprises, like Citadel being an agent for the Battalion or Tyrant taking on the Statesman mantle to redeem himself.

This was a real treat. Thanks to the devs for making this happen. I hope things turn around and we get to see all this in the game someday.

They're already working on a Marvel-themed MMO though.

Back in 2004, a friend of mine showed me this game on her computer and let me create a character of my own and fool around. I'd never been interested in MMOs before and I'd always been more of a fantasy nerd than a superhero fan, but City was too much fun. It took me a couple of years before I could get a computer that was capable of running the game well, but as soon as I did I got a subscription of my own.

My friend had stopped playing, but Infinity was the server she'd spent the most time on before she'd stopped. Nothing really came to mind for a character concept, so I fooled around with the character creator until I came up with a costume that looked cool and had enough of my favorite color. Since I'd taken fire powers, I figured a phoenix-themed character would be appropriate. And with her requisite amount of blue, I picked the second blue gemstone that came to mind (since I figured - rightly - that sapphire was taken). Thus Iolite Phoenix was born.

Like GATE-Keeper, I'm a pretty shy person. I didn't often form teams but I joined them when I had the chance. I somehow found my way into a relatively active and friendly SG, the Dragonians. I joined every STF I was able to and tried to get involved as best I could. I was the very first Ms. Infinity Paragon City. I was there for the first successful Hami raid after whatever issue (i9?) it was that they changed it up. Back then I was able to make more time for raids and TFs moreso than I am now.

I had to take a break for a couple years due to various circumstances, and returned right as Freedom was taking off. This game was a great help to me during a dark point in my life, for which I'm grateful. Admittedly I wasn't around this server as much when I returned, as my SG had moved servers and the Infinity seemed to be a lot less active than I remembered. Infinity server has always been my home, so I couldn't truly stay away. Even post-Freedom, I had the best experiences on this server. I'd been hoping to finally have a day free where I could tag along for the weekly TF or iTrial but never seemed to manage it. I'm not sure I'll be able to before the game closes. Tonight's been... I can't say great, because of the news, but the impromptu mothership raid was fun and a nice distraction from all the sadness.

Thank you, Infinity, for all the great memories. I may not know a lot of you anymore but it's been a pleasure playing with you. Best wishes to all of you in the future.

I don't have a screenshot of it handy, but there was also a big stack of City of Villains in the Buy More on Chuck. Maybe that counts as a more subtle form of advertising?

Some of the Elemental Order pieces have been perfect for my jewel-themed characters.

Because my other characters need some love sometimes! Of all the characters I have though, my crab is my favorite to play.

Switching between two of my characters to work on their Incarnate builds. Or in the case of my dom, working on a new build altogether.

Of the content that is considered relatively new, what is your most favorite?

Most of the DA arcs and WWD7.

When do you play?

9 to 10:30 on weeknights when I can. On my days off? When I'm close to my computer and I feel like it.

What timeframe seems to be the most active on the server in your estimation?

I wish I knew. The Mothership raids that I've been to have all been pretty active but that coincides with one of my favorite TV shows right now.

What's going on "IRL" lately?

Mostly work.

I've rerolled my namesake twice since my main SG moved servers. The original Iolite Phoenix was an energy/fire blaster and is still gets played on Infinity from time to time. She was my first ever main and my first 50, so I doubt I'll ever delete the original.

When I came back to the game I rolled her as a fire/fire blaster on Virtue but decided to start off in Praetoria since I hadn't seen it yet. I didn't like her as a Praetorian and wasn't having as much fun with the set as I wanted to, so I made Iolite Phoenix Prime as a firex3 dom and have gotten her to +2. I have a few takes on different versions of her as villains too, and I tend to play the Iolite-themed characters more than any other alts.

We'll have to see what Arachnos is up to in part 6. Having run both sides of part 5, I wasn't sure if Arachnos was trying to stall the heroes or get the information first. Recluse could still be a silent accomplice in this.

If he isn't, it'll be interesting to see what his reaction will be. Recluse was always driven to prove that he was better than Statesman in whatever way possible, and now he's at least outlived him. He might even be pleased that finally his ex-bff is out of the way for good or he might be mad that the killing blow was stolen from him. I figure he'll want to kill Darrin Wade either way - to send a message to the world at large that Lord Recluse won't die as easily as Statesman did, or as a bit of his own vengeance for the death of his former best friend. Seeing as the latest vidoc (and Ms. Liberty) is starting to push the question of whether Recluse is redeemable or not, I think it might be more of the latter. I'm curious to see which way they go with it.

What side do you pick more than others?

I have more villains than heroes because I prefer redside content. It's better written IMO and I like the Rogue Isles. But since most people play blueside, I probably spend more time over there.

What play style do you prefer?

Ranged damage. Melee's alright (can't wait for staff melee!) and support characters aren't really my thing. I usually play Crabs, Doms, or Blasters.

What power set(s) do you favor?

Crab Spider, easily. I like the toxic AoE damage, the ability to survive the aggro if things go badly, and the pets to help clean up. Outside of SoAs I have a lot of fire/ or /fire characters.

What zones do you like the most?

Grandville, Cimerora, and Croatoa.

Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?

Almost always female. I've made a few male characters in the past and haven't been able to get into them as much.

Views on Role Playing?

I've never been able to get into RPing in City. I'll try and go along with things if I join a team that's RPing but I usually don't RP on my own.

Servers?

Mostly Infinity and Virtue, though I've got a couple characters on Exalted to see how i like it.

I've only been on one Underground trial and it wasn't successful, but I was completely blown away by the atmosphere of it. I loved the degradation of the tunnels as you progressed. I loved that the enemies - all these super powerful weapons and troops like the ones Praetoria had meant to send into Primal Earth - had been corrupted and overwhelmed by Praetorian DE. It was creepy and fantastic.

I like the straightforwardness of the BAF. The objectives are pretty simple and I feel like I can contribute with whatever character I end up bringing in.

I might be in the minority here, but I also like the storyline of most of the trials themselves. Battling through Mother Mayhem's defenses to stop her is interesting. Anti-Matter going nuts and throwing everything he's got is fun. I want to see how the twist in the Underground trial ends up panning out.

Personally, I'd rather have them be in the background for a while than become a tired enemy group like Longbow. I think that Lord Recluse is currently putting his eggs in a few different baskets and seeing how things unfold before unleashing whatever his next plan may be. Arachnos's involvement in the Cimeroran arcs as well as their appearance in Praetoria goes along with that. Sister Airlia's arc is a better indicator of their success in Cimerora, as it was confirmed in a clue in one of the SSAs (the first, I think) that Imperious is under her influence now. Lord Recluse's name also came up a few times in the most recent part of the SSA, and I'm not quite ready to dismiss that as coincidence.

I'm hoping that some of the story content in the DA revamp will touch on what Lord Recluse has been doing in regards to the Praetorians. It might be more prudent for him to sit back and let the others do all the fighting while he sends in forces to do reconnaissance, but given his history I'd figure he'd have personal reasons to get involved. It's one thing that the Praetorian version of his archnemesis is running the show, but there's also the fact that the Praetorian version of Recluse is already dead (Since that's mostly touched on by Prometheus, I'm not sure how much information about that Lord Recluse has been able to find, but whatever he's found out he probably isn't happy about it).

I don't think we've seen the end of Arachnos as a major villain group (and I hope not, since they're my favorite faction), but I don't think it's time for another one of Lord Recluse's great plans just yet.

I think that if Hero One ended up getting a TF, it would make more sense to have it be its own TF and likely Incarnate content. If you've done the Ramiel arc, then it makes sense to have Hero One as a contact afterwards. I don't think it makes as much sense for him to just take over Statesman's if/when States bites it.

A lot of this stuff has me really excited! I'm really curious as to what the "not dead" fate of Praetorian Stefan Richter is and whether it will come up.

Have you checked the map? When I was looking for it earlier, there were markers for all three of the SSA contacts that clearly state that they're WWD contacts. The hardest part is figuring out what zone they're in if you don't already know.

Adding onto the "no' train. I hate excessive blood and gore in video games. This game doesn't need them.

I think you're right that it's connected, but that's just my hunch. I was having the same problem with my female Crab after the gender fix was supposed to be in place. My second and third slot had the issue you described. Hope they get around to fixing it soon.

Hello everyone! Some of you might remember me, but it's been almost two years since I stopped playing for technical reasons. The SG I was affiliated with has mostly picked up shop and moved to another server, but Infinity was my home pretty much from the get go and that's where my mains are.

So I'm wondering... how active is Infinity nowadays? I've had a few different channels open to see if much was going on, but there doesn't seem to be much activity at all. Is that true?
