How is Saban going to handle this one?
They'll do it and leave another plot hole in the series (at least to US fans).
Ummm... it will be done by a dumb plot point spoken by the American actors and dubbed over the helmeted rangers with stock footage.

Zombie, I was talking about the whole rangers we've never had in America thing, not the series itself.
Besides, Saban has the series again so we don't have to worry about Disney killing it. Only series I liked under Disney was RPM, it was a lot more darker and serious than it's Japanese counterpart and I liked it more, which is rare since I tend to like the Japanese counterpart of PR more than PR.
In theory, it could actually be a good thing. By having a mix of known and unknown powers to call on , it could add touch of mystery and widen the scope of the legend of the Power Rangers. i.e. What 'we' know of is just the tip of the iceberg.
Always remember, we were Heroes.
True. To us, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have always been the FIRST of the Power Ranger teams. However, in a few series they introduced something called the Ranger Matrix, which allows people to morph into Power Rangers. It's never been explained how LONG it's existed, however we can assume it's been some time since according to the intro to Power Rangers Samurai, people have been morphing since the Fuedal Era of Japan. We know it can be damaged, we also know that people can be reregistered (or unregistered) from the Matrix. Also, the Ranger world is shared by the Rangers, as proven by the various Cross Overs we've had and the Existence of Bulk in Samurai, his new 'sidekick, Spike, is actually the son of Skull....say waaaaat?
My husband thinks one possibility is early Ranger teams get morphed into alien rangers, like what they did with Kakuranger when they brought that footage over. I can't argue with that...
Currently playing:
The Domestic: Broom/WP
Shadowhex: Dark Control/Dark Affinity
Defenestration Lass: Grav/Kin

Mighty Morphin Green Ranger
Mighty Morphin White Ranger*
Zeo Red Ranger
Turbo Red Ranger
Dino Thunder Black Ranger
*I once saw a wallpaper of every Sentai team in Japan. The White Ranger we know was on a team of Sentai who had entirely different costumes than our Mighty Morphin counterparts. Either that team of Sentai got new costumes that we never saw, or the White Ranger was part of a different team in Japan.
Can't come up with a name? Click the link!
They could use it to tell stories of Rangers of the past..as in revisit characters OR tell the story of rangers that existed before in the universe...

Zyuranger - The original five's outfits and Tommy as the Green Ranger plus their zords at the time.
Dairanger - The team gets new zords called the Thunder Zords, Tommy is brought back as the White Ranger.
Kakuranger - The Alien Ranger Saga at the end of Mighty Morphin
Why wouldn't it be called Samurai? The Japanese version is Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.

The fake Skull as in Spike? If so, he's actually the SON of Skull. Although I am sad we'll never see a 'Mr. Brown' in the series, like they had on Shinkenger, because in an odd way Bulk and Spike fill that role.
Are we two seasons behind instead of just one season that we had before the Nickelodeon handoff?
If so, I could see them skipping pirates entirely.

I'm betting on a lot of Sixth-Ranger-ism.
From what I remember, Zordon would tell stories of warriors who fought with him as far back as 10,000 years ago. I assume that he meant they were ancient Rangers.

It's speculated by some that
Space Morphers < Zeo Morphers < Turbo Morphers < Dino Coins < Ninja Coins
In terms of power and sophistication... though it may be the case that the morpher technology was being improved the source of power was the more important part...
ie The Coins were less powerful than the Zeo Crystal, but both more powerful than the Space morphers which draw on no power supply. The Dino Coins are less powerful than the Ninja Coins only in that the Ninja Coins were created using those rangers as the source meaning that Kimberly wielding the Ninja Crane powers is more powerful than Kat wielding those same powers. Likewise the Zeo Crystal formed a connection with the various rangers and would have been more powerful for those rangers, but if you speculate that the Zeo Crystal was used for the Turbo powers and it still was gaining power the power differential might have been minimal...
The morpher technology might all be Zordon's and thus the Space < MMPR < Zeo < Turbo is the more powerful morphers or better operating ones regardless of power source...
We also know the power of the coins can be used without morphing and it seems that overtime you grow in power just by being around them and you seem to get default powers just from using them... hence it is possible that anyone that has been in contact with the older powers like Wild Force, Lost Galaxy, Space, Dino, the Alien Rangers, Ninja, can all be explained that way while the newer powers can be explained by way of cameos, time traveling, experimental morphers, etc... since the non-ancient powered morphers are almost all scientific and have multiple copies...
There are only a few Rangers that you'd need to have a cameo from those specific characters that I know of and those are all Tommy and those 4 others that were with him in Dino Thunder. Because for example White Tiger Ranger was completely created by Zordon during the period of time he was on the team...likewise the Falcon Ninja power was derived directly from Tommy... and then Tommy created the Dino Thunder Powers so noone else previously could have had those powers... however assuming that he were to continue using those powers and train new people he could have let others use the powers if it's significantly in the future after Dino Thunder...
I'm spending waaaay too much time on this. so I'm done.
Any one here remember the comic book adaptation of the original MMPR movie? In it they called Zordon's original team the Order of Meledin(sp?) so just call the Gorangers that and that can explain why their costumes are so goofy :P The rest they can explain as aliens, alternate dimensions(like they are going to do with the Samurai/RPM crossover episode) and Man-Made Rangers(Like Lightspeed Rescue). I mean in the PR universe we have numerous references to the Morphing Grid so that can be your easy explanation. When ever the Pirate Rangers change into a sentai without a PR counterpart just have a brief pause with some Alpha 5 type character (hopefully less annoying) giving a brief history of that team. Yes a few teams will have to be skipped or altered slightly but hey thats what editing is for. My only hope is that they keep the leaders name Captain Marvelous
Currently, we are on the Shinkenger Series, which the American 'remake' calls Power Rangers Samurai....seriously? Samurai? ._.

Also, Power Rangers Samurai made the Samurai Gold powered up form, which was amazing. But I digress.
I can imagine that, given that Gokaiger involves space, Saban might just say that all the other rangers are rangers from other planets.
When I was a kid, I -loved- Power Rangers. Like seriously, I was obsessed. I thought it was the greatest thing ever.
Then (around the time of Dekaranger) I was introduced to the original source material.
I have never - looked - back.
The original Sentai is far superior to the watered down mutilated American counterpart.
TV-N, Over-Time, GUIS, and all the other fansub groups are amazing for the work they do.
Gokaiger is really turning out to be an awesome series. After Gekiranger, I had lost hope with Go-Onger. It was craptastic. Then we got Shinkenger - OMG :O~~ So awesome. Then Goseiger... meh... and here we are at Gokaiger.
As for how they would incorporate it into Power Rangers lore, as someone previously mentioned, there were ancient Rangers on Earth - but also there were "space" Rangers as seen in MMPR/Kakuranger and Power Rangers in Space/Megaranger.
Either way, I doubt they will do good by the series. Dino Thunder was the last decent PR series. It went all downhill after that.
As a side note, I heard a rumor that Saban also registered "Power Rider" and that it would be a Kamen Rider show possibly based on footage from Decade.
The fake Skull as in Spike? If so, he's actually the SON of Skull. Although I am sad we'll never see a 'Mr. Brown' in the series, like they had on Shinkenger, because in an odd way Bulk and Spike fill that role. |

I'm wondering why "Power Rangers Samurai" is an issue, given that the full title of Shinkenger is "Samurai Sentai Shinkenger." Psychic Lover even sings those words seven times during the themesong.
Also, Power Rangers Samurai made the Samurai Gold powered up form, which was amazing. But I digress. I can imagine that, given that Gokaiger involves space, Saban might just say that all the other rangers are rangers from other planets. |
So the series title is literally "Samurai Power Rangers"
I don't get the problem considering Sentai is the word for Power Ranger and Shinkenger seems to be the weird word for Ranger that is in every series...
So the series title is literally "Samurai Power Rangers" |

Most likely with Gokaiger, they'll either cut out the non-US Sentai teams, explain them as different ranger teams that we haven't seen from around the world or different planets, or just use the pirate footage.
I'm hoping it's not the latter. You can't explain why several of the merchandise mecha look like the Dekaranger PatrolStriker, GaoRanger GaoLion, and etc, without bringing up some questions.
Goseiger will not be angels, due to it being a religious reference.

Next we'll get Goseiger, which are Angeled themed. I like how Saban kept to the story of Shinkenger, somewhat, in Samurai so I'm excited to see how he handles Goseiger.
HOWEVER!
After Goseiger is Gokaiger. Pirate Themed, which is awesome...however this is where the issue comes up. Gokaiger has their team using the powers of all the previous taskforces. Since this brings in heroes that Power Rangers never had, I wonder how Saban is going to handle this series. It's a good serious, mainly because of this guy:
CAPTAIN MARVELOUS!
So I want to see what Saban does with the series. However, I am worried that he may choose to skip this series instead of trying to explain the existence of Rangers the US never saw before.
Thoughts?
