What's with all the attitude....?

I'm writing this post to try and figure out what's the deal with all this crap @$$ attitude going on this server? I've been hearing it from several people I play with and random players that the general attitude of this server is just plain rude and at some times, down right out of line. Cussing players for asking questions, berating people for asking for a farm or team, cracking on costumes, names, etc, etc. Folks this is plain and down right the most foolish bunch of garbage I've ever heard. We all pay our fifteen bucks to play the game and to play on this server. If you don't like someone that you don't know from the next man (unless you actually do) then stop being rude and quit giving folks a hard time for no reason. This is not that special of a server at all folks, it really isn't. Sure you pay to play on it whoop-tee-doo, does that make you entitled or special? Mmm sorry but no, it doesn't at all. I myself have personally not encountered any of this but I'm just taking a stand for those that are. Enough of the foolishness folks. Its just a game and if you weren't aware, everything we do in this game is recorded so I'd hate to hear someone got banned for being reported because it can and it will happen.

The server is VIP only.
A lot of people moved there because of that fact.
Tthe sort of people that change servers because they are pro-segregation, are the height of arrogance. The things you mention are just consequences of that arrogance.

I'm new to CoH and chose exalted because I anticipated the least lag there, no other reason.

There definitely are a few unpleasant people, and people assume you automatically know what you're doing (as so far the assumption is VIP = veteran). People have been relatively helpful towards me when I ask one of my many, many questions in the help channel, however.

Huh... Maybe I've just been lucky, but I haven't run across much of that at all, Frost, and I'm pretty active on the server. Now, I have seen a couple of arguments crop up on the Help channel and in Atlas broadcast (Ah, the "Knockback Issue". Causing trouble for years and still going strong. o_0), but nothing that seemed unusually vicious or that far out of line.

For what it's worth, though, if you do see anyone getting overly nasty towards the players asking real questions in Help, it needs to be reported. That kind of nonsense just Is Not Cool and shouldn't be tolerated by any of us, on ANY server. I'm not one of those "No random chatting on Help! Ever!" content-police types by any means, but the channel's real function shouldn't be over-looked.

I, personally, have not seen nor experienced any of this poor attitude. While I mostly solo until level 32 or so, most of the people I've encountered on the BMT of Exalted and Exalted Events channels, and during raids, have been good and decent. I'm not going to claim what you say happened didn't happen. Sadly, every server (much like every village), has its idiot. However, I can assure that that is the exception, not the rule.

While I moved to Exalted and made it my home to escape the general nastiness that tends to come with free-to-play MMOGs, that does not mean I consider myself better than anyone else, and I very much doubt I'm alone on that.

im not sure exalted is special in this regard as while i've found plenty of rude folks here they don't seem above average or special in their rudeness . I can definitely say with some conviction that I don't see Exalted taking home the gold in this years server rudeness olympics ...maybe if they try very hard they can take the bronze ...maybe .

No matter the game or the server there will always be people that are going to be rude or contrary to others. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. I'm enjoying the community so far, although I've been running solo more while I level up my toons. But I still like to keep most of the more popular channels open.

Been playing almost exclusively on Exalted since it came out, and I can't really say anything bad about hte community, it has been amazing from my personal experiences.

I started on exalted, because it was a chance for me to get a name or two that I actually liked for my characters.

I haven't seen any of the negative stuff mentioned by the OP, but then again, according to the OP himself...

neither has he, lol.

And assuming people who decide to make toons on this server are 'elitist' is simply wrong in most cases. I made a toon on this server because I figured it would have a high population, without being too high (coughfreedomcoughlagcough) and get the most attention from the devs.

Ultimately you'll get the same personalities on this server that you find on any other, so pretending this server is vastly more 'rude' or 'elitist' than another is just nonsense.

Well again, I haven't seen it myself but my wife and my best friend both have told me they've been on the receiving end of some needless attitude so that is why I even brought it up. We're all here to have fun and enjoy the game and yes, with Freedom's launch, we've had a major influx of new players. I myself normally play on Freedom, and its nice to come to Exalted to avoid the major lag there. I just think we shouldn't treat anyone differently because they may not know what to do or where to go, etc, etc.
