Are Fire Farms over?

So I almost always go check the patch notes. Always curious what was fixed and what changes went in.

The 20th patch notes located here:

Say:

"Custom Critters within Mission Architect which are capable of self-revival will give no rewards when they are defeated for the second and subsequent times. The powers still contribute to the calculation of their custom XP values."

My question is how does this affect fire farms? I know that my favorite arc for this activity features lots of little fire farm goodness that revive themselves. Will this greatly reduce the awards I get? Don't most ambush farms use this strategy to get the most out of the ambush? Does this mean my fire farm arc I use will now take the same amount of time but net half the returns?

its basically saying for rezzing baddies you kill 2 mobs and only get 1 mob worth of rewards

so if its a tiny little ambush farm, then yes you would get half the rewards for same amount of baddies

(stuff like this is why i never designed ambush farms lol)

No, just subsequent farms won't have rezzing mobs.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I have been wanting to create my own MA mission for this for a while. I will attempt to create my own without the rezzing baddies. I guess I could also look for a new mish that doesn't have rezzers.

i have a efficient farm for several different armors, dont like fire armor? i got one for elec armor, ice armor, and one for toons good vs smash/lethal dmg

Oooh, how do you do one for elec armor? The only thing I found super resistance to was energy, and most of the energy I could find was either bundled with other damage types or with endurance drain.

the baddies attacks are mostly elec assault, using the blasts, elec armor is near immune to end drains so thats a non issue

the voltaic sentinel was good for bosses because those add a LOT of xp%

the baddies i designed do pure energy dmg (there are end drains, but thats kind of unavoidable, but also a non issue due to elec armor), when i get around to it i can look up their exact powers and PM you

Elec Armor is immune to endurance drain.

As per normal, Dechs gets it.

I'd never made an AE farm before (instead just relying upon the popular ones), but having seen those patch notes I took it as a challenge and went and made an AE farm that gives even more rewards per hour than previous rezzing ambush farm.

Seriously, I don't think the devs were even trying to make a dent in ambush farming, I think they were just concerned about mobs that rez at 30% HP, immobilised and able to be affected by PbAoE (now that they're all about exploits for some reason). If the devs actually wanted to stop ambush farming then they'd just prevent frontloading ambushes and triggers; they're not stupid people who don't know how to prevent this thus they must not currently want to prevent it.

Not by a long shot.

There only two things that have changed and these are mobs that rez don't give rewards after rezzes and the way the general public is perceiving the state of these farms.

A lot of the people that didn't farm, but wanted the services of farmers are the ones that think things have changed.

Fire Farms....hell, all farms for that matter are live and well.

You would think it should since it provides a invincible duration and includes knockback and has a mag 4 stun. I'm not sure if multiple RoTP can stack, but if they do a few of those could break through quite a bit of status protection. Could be pretty annoying at a 15 second duration minus resistances as well.

Carrying breakfrees would kind of stink. However, I'm certain that if it did, the problem would most likely be the same as it was with other rezzes anyhow.

Fire Farms only got a "leg kicked out from under their leg" they are still way strong.
