Lore Pets - which ones are best?
You can actually find out what they all have by opening the incarnate menu and then opening the tab for lore pets, pick the ones you want followed by tier and just right click on the circle for which pet you wanna know the powers of.
Best really depends on what your looking for in a pet or two.
Nihili has the best summary I know of:
I'd like to pick Vanguard or Polar Lights/Drones for concept purposes, but Romans are so far above other pets in ST DPS (which is what I want from lore pets) I will most likely pick these. Personally, I think the nice choices from a minmaxing perspective are ST melee DPS : Romans ST ranged DPS / GM hunting without regen debuffs : Longbow AoE damage : Clockwork, with the caveat that if the chain power still isn't fixed (I haven't checked if it is), it steals XP so may steal rewards Buff : Phantoms Debuff : Storm Elementals |

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Initialy i thought 'phantoms' would fit my Necro MM lovely, untill i got them and found out they are actualy the PA mobs from ill trollers.
So i moved on to the battle drones, the buff bot is pretty useless (bitty heal - only you, not your pets and a 5% defense bubble) but their range is very impressive.
I take Lore pets that either suits me (drones on a /trap MM) or are not 'in my way' (as the bulky Longbow or Rularuu). My Granite tank got the whisp-lookalike-pets, small decent and they give a nice -defense debuff.
I only wish they had more 'theme' wise pets, such as Malta for my AR blaster, DE for my Granite tank or undead-alike mobs for my Necro.

I believe Warworks still rate high in DPS. Not sure how exactly they rate side-by-side with Cims, but they do pack -regen. The Victoria bot does absolutely ludicrous damage, and she can solo AVs (if you keep her from dying).
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

I only know what one is certifiably the worst. As someone who took Vanguard and broguht it all the way up to tier 4, they are irredeemable. The boss is terrible at damage and debuff variety is too spread out to mean anything, and it'll take me a while to convince that the intangible pet's AI isn't broken.
IMO, the Cims are head and shoulders above the rest as far as damage goes, followed by the Warworks.
As far as a "support" Lore, I really feel that is a "flavor" thing. Look hard at what kind of role you like play (support, damage, "clean-up", tank, etc..) and then look at your your build. Do you use ungodly amounts of End? Does your Def need shoring up a bit? Try to find the Lore pet support option that best suits your needs. There really isn't an ultimate "best" IMO.
I don't really go for a "theme" with the Lore. To me, its just another power pick, if it fits in thematically, great, if not, oh well.
I have a few T-4 Lores that I rotate out based on what I am doing. Same as the destiny buffs. Doing an Underground Trial? Break out the Cims and Clarion. Doing a Keyes? Break out the Longbow (for the minor heals) and the Rebirth.
Wow, a large number of replies, haha.

Support phantom has a half strength, 60 second duration AB. It's non-permament and the recharge is such that the support pet will cast it on you twice during its duration.
They're not bad since the AB counters slows and end drains and is a big heal over time itself. Phantoms are actually fairly decent single-target damage in exotic damage types (i.e. not S/L/E) and they fly, which makes them less liable to get left behind/stuck.
On my main badger I have a few crafted depending on what is needed, others will get whatever either for theme or to fill a hole.
On my main elec/elec brute I really like the Cimerorans to make up for my lack of ST damage.

Interesting to see that Cims actually outdo Warworks even though WW do -regen. I didn't think anything would actually be as powerful as WW are. That's kind of scary since as I said the Victoria bot can already solo AVs.

Still, Phantoms don't seem so bad, and considering my ill/rad does psi damage only (with Phantasm doing energy damage), some different damage would help. Plus, they can fly too, which is nice.
Someone needs to do a table of the Tier 4 lore pets and gather all the info together, haha.

So Cim's are still the best for DPS?
Exalted server
Red Pendragon-FM/SD Scrapper 50+3
Softcapped 45% defence, 247 DPS no pets, 447 DPS with pets
Looking at that, Cimerorans are miles ahead. I'm guessing their innate ability to do criticals was carried over to their lore form. :3

Their fly is so freaking random, i ditched phantoms and took the drones again. They have not that much of damage, but its very consistant. Once they are in 'spray' range they cycle perfectly between their 2 (later 3) attacks.

They are the most melee focused pets IIRC, the WW Lt as a primarily ranged combatant and that might be where the drop in their respective DPS numbers comes from.
Phantoms suffer the same issue like normal PA and several MM pets, they wont swap that efficient between range/melee that they will ever hit that said dps.

I find that they fly very often as long as the character in question is airborne (jumping or flight) often.
It's also fun to watch FSC crit for over 1K damage on a handful of enemies.
The link in my sig should have the most up to date list, which includes Clockwork (I left them out on accident originally).

There are more things to consider than looks and DPS. Though it doesn't fit any theme, the northern lights are something I'd consider for a squishy due to the massive kb they deal. And I'd personally rather have some AoE damage rather than single target, so I consider the WW to still be king. Though I do have cims on my roman themed scrapper, just for concept.
I hold up a new worst lore pet! None can defy that the Rularuu Overseer is (1) stupid and lazy, (2) does no damage worth crap, and (3) blocks the view as he sits on your shoulder like a parrot. Beat that! Fortunately, I stopped at T2.

I use Cims on any character being built for the best DPS I can give it.
I use Phantoms on most other characters as they are concept flexible, have a good mix of ST DPS, decent AoE (the aforementioned FSC) and they can fly (which is situational, but I find they tend to keep up with me very well in most situations due to flight).
Every once in a while I'll grab pets just for concept for example the Arachnos pets for my Crab.
I have gotten very fond of the storm elementals. Even the 10-minute support tier 3 is reasonably survivable, deals good damage and the hurricane is pretty handy.
they don't fit for every character I have, but where they fit I am quite pleased with them.
The clocks I have on one character and they deal pretty decent AoE and since they are 100% ranged they survive.
I'll agree with the Overseer as the dumbest lore pet. Though I haven't tested them all it is hard to believe there's a worse one out there.

Will lore pets heal the player or just the other pet? Also, will said healing pet's heals count towards badges?
If we're only considering the tier 4 pets for each set, is there any real differences between them, or do certain ones have any advantages?
My Ill/Rad started off with Warworks, and while the Victoria and ACU units are great, I'm wondering if it's better to go with Phantoms for appearance's sake. However, do certain pets prefer melee or range more, and which ones can fly, and what sort of damage do they do?
