And if anyone can die and come back for another series it's Rory!

There are a few things wrong here.
From what I've read. he's said he'll be back in some fashion, heavily implying he won't be a regular companion.
Additionally, from what I've read, the new Series will start airing in 2012, but in the autumn, and finish in 2013 since it'll be split into two like this season.

What's with the Rubix Cubes? They are appearing deliberately in the background which usually means that the moff is trying to build up clues for the finale.

Spoilers!

He lost his child this season and just the last episode he lost his wife, he's lived through losing both the things he holds dear to him, so what left is there for a man to fear who has lived over 2,000 years ontop of the stuff above. So he has no faith in God, he has no faith in the Doctor (especially after last episode), he only has faith in one thing, himself.

Wow Rory is all kind of awesome.
agreed, the Rory we saw when we first met him, is a very different Rory we saw at the end of God Complex, I admit I am curious as to his activities during those 2000 years he spent guarding Amy.

<sigh> I do hope they sprinkle a special here there, the sad part is, there is only two episodes left in this season (too bad they can't do a 22 episode run, as is standard here in the states)

Only 2 left?!? Eep...thought we had like 8 left heh...

When my dad and I watched this episode my dad said, "they getting rid of them? Is this the season finale or something?"

I said, "No...we have like 8 episodes left...."

Guess I was wrong :P

Edit: Wonder how they're going to wrap up the whole Doctor dying at the beach in 2 episodes...especially when the next episode looks like another "filler" episode.

There will be Xmas specials just like before, both this year and the next, putting next years in the middle of the run. There'll hopefully be an easter special or two as well just before the Games start.

Assuming they do wrap up the Doctor's death this series/season. The Silence was left open last time, maybe this will too.

I mean the Daleks haven't shown themselves at all this series (which is good, means we hopefully won't get the rollaround daleks again).

Moffet specifically said he was giving them a break.

Couple of things-

1) Next episode IS the beginning of the 2 part finale, they just aren't advertising it as parts 1 & 2. (also, one of the iconic monsters like Cybermen would never be used in a 'filler' episode with Moff at the head)

2) My guess is the Doctor's reason for leaving Amy & Rory is NOT altruistic. He has a plan to avoid his death, but due to what he already knows and what THEY already know of his demise, he can't let them know what he's doing. It's quite possible he's manipulating them in some way like the 7th Doctor would. Nor do I think him seeking out Craig is accidental- Craig lived underneath a timeship for how many years and also remember he got most of the Doctor's memories as well.

3) The Doctor's room..... Sooo many ideas ran through my head I'll just list them-
The Master (unikely)
The Tardis dying
His Death
Gallifrey/the Time Lords and what they've become.
Time being undone

I heard from a guy in a blue box that they were bringing back Romana.

Ah okay...

Just me personally but I never cared for the Cybermen...sooo boring to me.

I'm going to echo everyone else and say that I don't see how Cybermen could ever be a "filler" episode. Also, for what it's worth, last week's episode looked like a filler episode too, and while it did mostly stand alone, it did bring us some new developments.

the 200 years gap, also gives the Grand Moff can use to explain away a lot of stuff, for example apparantly River and the Doctor had quite a few adventures in this period, heck they could've had kids during that period. And its also not to say that he didn't have other companions during that time, with that said, there is a special relationship he does have with Amy and Rory

Mummy and Daddy-in-law?

I've wondered something about Rory's lack of faith. He's been altered so many times, could it be that this Rory is not real? A creation of Amy's memories while standing at the rift in the universe? If he's a cleverly re-made Rory, the construct may lacking something that generates faith.

Victory of the Daleks...

Wasn't the second-to-last episode of the season, and set up the new Daleks for their appearance in the season finale.

You know, it occurs to me that when I saw the trailer for The Lodger, I originally assumed it would be a Cyberman episode when I saw people being lured into the timeship-apartment only to be result in a buzzsaw-like sound and screaming...very much like the Cyberman transformation process we saw in Age of Steel. With Craig returning next episode, could the Cybermen have been the ones behind the timeship?

I think he's been over that since he found out that in her hour of most need she called for him, not the Doctor.

This is a song about a super hero named Tony. Its called Tony's theme.

Not from some of the looks he's been giving whenever Amy starts talking about the Doctor. Her unshakable faith in him bothers Rory especially after the last two episodes.

I don't think Rory doesn't like the Doctor (okay, the car helps). I'm of the impression he's just deeply disturbed that the Doctor has not really the considered the full ramifications of his actions. In a sense, with the ending on this episode, it appears the Doctor has thought it through more, at least regarding Rory and Amy. Of course, being the reincarnation of the 7th Doctor, its probably just another chess move on his part towards whatever he's considering regarding Utah.

This area of Amy's character kind of confuses me, honestly. By "Demon's Run", she did seem to have faith in Rory. Her parting words to Melody were that her father, the great hero Rory, was coming to save them. Then, of course, 36 years of solitude happened and yes Old Amy's memories didn't fold into Young Amy- but that must have had some impact on Amy, plus the infamously undiscussed failure to save Melody. Amy, by "God Complex", has every reason to trust in Rory over the Doctor. Rory has never let her down or failed her and has died, lived 2,000 years, and destroyed space/time for her. I personally think it would have been a much more moving and emotional episode of the Doctor was forced to make Amy lose her faith in Rory to save them from the Minotaur (then he dumps them before he can ruin them further). It would have been sad and they're an epic couple together, yes, but it would have made more sense.

I know a lot of it come from out-of-order episodes, but Amy never discusses her lost baby or the fact that Rory waited two thousand years for her. That is romantic and epic on so many levels, and she rewarded him with a hug. Not even a "hooray for you".

I assume that her reward to Rory was not appropriate to air on a show like Doctor Who.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

It may be nothing, but someone on another forum pointed out that previously the Doctor expressed frustration for the Rubix Cube when he apparently wasn't able to solve it, but this time he happily has at it and solves it without issue. By the same token he chomps away on an apple, having previously expressed dislike for apples. Small contradictions that could be nothing, but are also the kind of breadcrumbs Moffat might leave for one of his twisty plots.

So this lead to a theory that there was perhaps two separate Doctors at play (with switcheroo'ing behind the scenes between episodes), and that's how they'll get around the whole Doctor dying for good thing. Possibilities suggested were the flesh/ganger Doctor, and an android Doctor (purely because River has commented that she dated an android once, though this seems a flimsier possibility on what's already pure guesswork).
