Although I can role play a little, I usually don't.
I don't expect to play on Exalted, as any time spent here is time not spent on my home server, Liberty.
I will, however, make the trip when Liberty is unavailable.

I am a serial PUG'ist. It is the most productive team type for me, to join what I want when I want. Sure the odds of an inexperienced player joining are greater than a selected team, as is the likelihood of said player going AK mid-AV-battle. But the variation in other players ability are a factor of enjoyment for me as well as speeding, soloing, clearing etc
PvE-focused casual role-player and part-time badge-collector? 
I do a little of everything, aside from PvP, and hope the server eventually has groups that cater to all of it.

As a player I'm casual in that I don't come on at any specific time, for any particular reason (unless there's a timed-badge), or for any specific length of time. I RP in that my toons all have backstories and many are intertwined between eachother and even the SG(s) I've created over the years (I consolidated in i12/i13 before retirement).
As for the server, a number of us were jokingly calling it the 'retirement' server for people with alt-itis to the point that they'd filled their account to the max (not everybody necessarily paid for slots) and had enough sentimentality left in the toon to preserve it. From the sounds of it, after a few months, it'll likely just turn into a single-named alt wasteland filled with CoX lifers or Elitists. There's always hope for a true, more wholesome playerbase, but I'm not betting the inf-farm on it. ;-)

If you honestly think that Exalted is a good place for a RP community, you have another thing coming.
But I may pop in once and a while to feed my natural gamer side (AKA PVE, no RP)

I haven't actually played on Exalted yet, but extrapolating from the majority mentioning it on the forums, I concluded that at least there appears to be a large (forum) desire for an Exalted RP-community.

If you want to split the community further and promote cliques even more.
We don't need more servers with an RP community. We have Virute, Union, Pinnacle, and apparently Infinity. That should, and is enough. If you don't like the communities on any of the servers listed then you might as well RP through AIM, because the same thing will just happen on Exalted.
As roleplayers, we should be there to help each other, not split apart further.

And does having one preclude another?
I don't RP; I wasn't saying I wanted it to be an RP-server. I simply said the desire seems to be there to cultivate some sort of RP'ing (based on others' answers). Your need to undercut it before it began and/or had a chance is a bit odd, particularly if your agenda is that you want more people to RP with (but on the servers you mentioned).

RPer from Virtue, my friends and I are establishing a "separate continuity" here on Exalted where rules we established in our RP have been bent to near breaking, and the Gods walk amongst us. (IE we all got the deity names we had been gunning for on Virtue for YEARS and finally get a chance to play a Deific SG)), so, Light RP is alive and well on Exalted.
As is Farming, my group is well aware of the need for farming to happen for a SG to live and thrive...
I am thus far splitting my time between the two servers... fairly successfully...

I'm a pretty all around player, I sometimes do some RP in the form of randomly talking in character while playing, but I do want to experience a more RP driven group here and there. I enjoy just grinding some trials and TFs, and want to get into badge hunting, but its been a bit daunting so far to jump into...maybe when I get a fully decked out 50 he can go acquire 1000 badges
I tend to solo, So whatever server I'm on tends to be about the same...
As a Solo player I'm hoping Exalted ends up being a haven from the crazy full other servers. I like there to be people around, so if I do need to team I can, and you know, sometimes you just feel social. But when the servers are packed to bursting the lag can get so insanely bad it makes me want to cry...
It'd be nice to have one server where there are people who are obviously in love with the game. (You paid for it, When it could be free. You don't get much more love than that.) A server where I can happily do what I want to do without having to put up with the free players who have no idea how to play. Not that I object to those players, I'm more than willing to help out where I can, but sometimes it's nice to take a break.
Obviously I'm assuming that's where the other servers are headed, At least in the low level areas. But who knows? Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised!

I'm pretty much just a laid back player, I don't write bios for my chars and I don't RP or PvP. I mostly just enjoy doing missions, tfs, making costumes, and badge hunting 
I like to RP and run missions/TFs however I'm hoping more RP will happen on Exalted.
I talk in character often, and will support anyone in RP anytime. With the caveat, I'm here to play, not Instant Message. Standing around doing nothing but chatting RP, is not my game. I'm here to kick *** and take names, so lets do the RP while on a mission.
Obviously some events have to be staged and so on, so there are exceptions and always will be.
And I'm hoping there's some PvP. Need to get into that but pretty much, not interested in Freedom.

I will occasionally power level or something of the sort if I need to reach a specific level to get a new contact. But otherwise, it generally depends, I love to RP at Pocket D. So I've been looking for an RP-only SG or VG in Exalted.
I try to be a team player, but generally... man does my sense of direction get me lost...

What I would've thought Exalted would be: elitism server.
What it just turned out to be full of so far: server elitism.
Half the things being said in any team appear to come down to "my server > urs so fu kplzthx".
Edit: The topic of "my build is more uber than yours and any on your server" seems be a close runnerup.
As for the kind of player; laid back, often solo or duo and speedrunning everything.
