No more store?

I wanted to buy the booster packs but there's nothing in the CoH Store anymore. Is it because of the F2P transition? When will it arrive?

The store will return when COH:Freedom goes live. Basically the ingame Paragon Points store is replacing the old one where booster packs are sold.

It looks like their original internal target date for launching Freedom was Sept 1 but because of some killer bugs it had to be delayed. But a bunch of secondary things like ending the old store couldn't be delayed. Probably because of contracts etc with other vendors.

Thank you. I searched, unsuccessfully. I don't keep up with the news.

Not really. Looks to come out about the same. The costume sets in the boosters appear to be sold as a set for about $5 and the powers are supposed to be grouped similiarly. Though that bit isn't in the store yet.

Price increase. Positron told us flat-out that, if you actually want all the items in a booster pack, buy it before the store goes away. Buying every item in the pack WILL cost MORE than it did before. There will be no 'package deal' to get everything in the pack.

Now, if you DON'T want every item from a booster pack, yes it will be cheaper in the new store since you can pick and choose.

Don't forget, however, that you also get 400 PP free for every month of VIP subscription. That can also go towards your stuff.

If you're at least tier 8 VIP, you get 550 PP free every month. Check out <insert forumer's name here>'s guide to the reward levels. Long as you're not interested in the powers, it's definitely a net win... even if you're not interested in some of the powers but are in others (i.e. I already have the GvE Jump Pack... I don't really need a second!)

There was always something I never use in each pack.

It can. But it could also go towards other stuff. That's not really relevant to this.

Please note, I'm not saying we're not getting good value for our money. I think VIP's will be getting a better deal under the new system than current subscribers. I'm just saying that buying the booster packs in the new store will cost more than in the old store.

So basically, aside from our monthly subscription payments, we are going to be paying real money for virtual items that we will never own/touch/see/smell in the physical, real world? Unless of course, we have enough of these special VIP points.

Lord, please forgive me for all of the evil I have done... and some of what I am about to do.

Just like buying them with real money back when they were in origin super boosters or packs. Difference is you can choose only to get a few items for much less than buying an entire pack for just them.

For instance for me, only thing the animal pack had that I wanted was the wolf tail. It's like 25 cents.

Even with the special VIP points we still can't actually touch/see/smell any of the stuff we buy. I wouldn't want you to be disappointed.

Do we know if the costume pieces also come bundled? For instance, the steampunk pack. I didn't buy the pack, because I didn't really want the power, but I like the costume pieces. Do I have to buy each costume piece separately, or is there an option for all the steampunk pieces?

Thank you, Champion.

Yes, for 400 points ($5) you can get the "Steampunk Costume Set". I'm not 100% sure if it's already bundled on the store (there are some costume bundles not available yet on the store) but it should be there sometime soon after launch if it's not there at launch.

As far as I can determine, this sheet has the list of everything associated with the various packs/boosters/expansions:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...3U3NNRUE&gid=0

Note that it lists the Super Tailor as a Powerset, given that it is the same price as a new power set.

This page is a breakdown of the bundles (none of the costumes/auras/backpack/wings) themselves:

This page is a breakdown of the prices without the bundles:

And of course the last page is a comparison between the last two pages.

You mean, just like it was before when if you wanted the Wedding pack, Party pack, Mutant pack, Cyborg pack, etc, etc you had to buy them with real money? If you wanted to play a villain when CoV came out, you had to buy it. If you wanted to change alignments when Going Rogue came out, you had to buy it.

So.. um... business as usual, I guess.

You know, I'll go one step further than the others: Your argument doesn't hold water to our monthly subscription. We're paying real money (at least I hope we are) for virtual items that we will never own/touch/see/smell in the physical, real world. Same goes for any expansions (CoV, Good Vs. Evil, Going Rogue, and any of the boosters).

Wait you mean paying real money for Virtual items like ... The Character you play? That kind of virtual item?
