Who Is Going Down With Galaxy

One of my characters is a native of GC. He's going to lose a home and a family member when it's destroyed, and it's going to hit him pretty hard (and start him on the Incarnate path out of a desire for vengeance).

Most of my non-Praetorian blues-siders started in Galaxy, but I've never really thought of any of them as living there, or having any personal attachment to the place... So, no. None of my crew will be removed or changed due to its destruction.

Now, if the devs ever do the "Galaxy treatment" on Steel, Talos, Peregrine Island or Saint Martial, that's a whole different story...

This isn't necessarily limited to those who started in or live in Galaxy City. Your character could just happen to be there when the storm hits, or have foreknowledge of the event and goes in in an attempt to limit the damage/do what they can. There are many story and play style options here.

That's exactly what the intro comic tells you

Yeah, and it's actually Statesman who drops a building on you, not the shivans.

The new arcs are hella evil. I almost want to make my newest toon a villain.

Since I have no plans to retire or drastically redesign any of them, none of my characters (of any alignment who could be in GC) who might be there would be seriously injured or killed. Most of them are ficitonalized as someone who could survive massive destruction, either through outright durability, ingenious protective devices, regenerative ability, or just a superhuman ability to get out of the way. They would dig out, dust off, and start helping or at least fighting.

Hasn't learned anything since the First Rikti War, has he?

"I'll knock these motherships out of the sky with my mighty... oops."

I am quite attached to Galaxy City but I don't assume that means that any of my characters are so attached. Most of them have a nebulous life outside of whatever their concept happens to be.

Now, I suppose that I could do some kind of RP where I have a hero who is doing his hero thing until the day that Lord Recluse assists Statesman into dropping that building on me, and then decide that "Hey, I've been backing Team Loser!" and make a "new" version who heads to the Isles in disillusionment.

Other than that, I don't really see any of my existing characters being too directly affected by the events in the tutorial. If we could actually take our existing chars into Galaxy City and fight the shivans, it would be different, but we can't do that.

As it stands, Galaxy City isn't nearly as ruined as you might expect if Twinshot's "Destroy the Meteors" mission is any indication.

From the looks of it, he is knocked -into- the building. He doesn't knock it down on purpose.

So it's more accurate to say "Lord Recluse knocked down the building with grevious misuse of knockback."

Of course, it's still Statesman's fault for forgetting to turn on [Unyielding]. What kind of Tanker is he supposed to be, anyway?

You could say that this time around, Stefan is Sisyphus and Marcus is the stone. heh.

It says I have to be in a building, trampling all over my RP in typical dev fashion.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Maybe he ran low on Endurance and the toggle dropped.

I figured it was Lord Recluse knocking down the building through grievous misuse of Statesman.

I never liked Galaxy City and won't miss it at all. I only went there to get the exploration badges for the Atlas Medallion accolade and for Numina's kill 10 Hellions thing in her TF.

You stole my idea, stealer!

No, no...I'm kidding, Megajoule. Honestly. However, my first character (and currently only 50) Johnny Lightning is Galaxy City born and raised, and his group is known in the bar band circuit there. With daughter Gemini moved away after loosing her powers, and wife Summoning Arian lost in another dimension somewhere, GC's destruction is going to affect him too. He's already taken to spending more time in the Vanguard bunker because he doesn't like "feeling alone".
