Most relaxing build
For me what is relaxing depends on my mood. Sometimes I find killing everything in sight hard and fast relaxing, sometimes I find a nice, easy, slow pace relaxing.
My Crab caters to both my needs. My Crab is an aoe beast when I feel like slaughtering small societies or I can just chill back and let my pets carry me if I am after something a little more mallow.
I bet I am a little weird on this, but I never find Masterminds relaxing. They border on "sensory overload" for me. [Keep an eye on my HPs and End, as well as all pets. Constantly calculating if it would be better to wait to re-summon lost tier 1 pets, or cut losses and re-summon them all, or just re-summon the lost ones now. Etc..]
For me, the most relaxing character I have (and I do not have a lot) is a Claws/Willpower Brute. With Tough and Weave from Fighting pool, combined with inherent Fitness, all I have to do is make sure my toggles are up (I have screwed this up before) and click on the attack that has recharged.
Unless I get overwelmed with numbers, or am facing a particularly tough Elite Boss or Archvillain, I never have to keep an eye on my stat bars.
It really is something of a "monkey pushes the button" character. The only somewhat irritating part of it is if you are facing enemies with flight and range (like Longbow with their Eagles). You might have to switch targets often as Eagles fly in, and then fly out.
My favorite scrap is sort-of like that...
I've had Ash a long time, have played him an awful lot and know pretty much exactly what he can handle and what he can't. Running him through something like Harvey's demons mission or one of the Freakworld maps is nearly autopilot... There's something a little zen in it, I guess. Very "load it up and go".
@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...
Babysitting Domination (and Hasten, if I've chosen to take it) makes Dominators one of the least relaxing ATs to play for me.
Oddly, the most relaxed feeling I've been getting these days has been from my Stalker. Walk up, hit, kill, placate and run. Wait... walk up, hit, kill... it's kind of zen. |
as for your note on stalkers, i sort of feel the same way, soloing a stalker is very relaxing until you get into a mob thats too large and then just get faceplanted
Fire/Rad/Psi Controller
Choking Cloud + Hot Feet + World of Confusion = A walking death machine.
Throw in your debuffs and little imps and watch the mobs stand there and die.
Anything /willpower on a brute.
Once you get RttC you can basically walk into anything and just smash things. The higher HP base feeds your regen, and inherent fitness just made sure you don't ever have to watch your endurance or health.
with brutes getting Katana I would say a Katana/Willpower should be very relaxing.
My thugs/traps MM works for me. He is what I usually play when I am eating lunch at work. Put a few on aggressive watch them wipe out a room while I stuff my face.
Out of my limited experience Local Man said it.
Put your Stone tank in Granite (good IO build) with Mud Pots on and Fire Sword Circle on auto, and Root him for some extra regen. I have actually run ambush farms at +4 that way for testing purposes. Helps if you have a Tier 4 Reactive.
Seriously I can run that tank solo vs just about anything except actual AV's. You just think about the most efficient way to accomplish the mission and stroll along.
Don't have any of the other fequenty mentioned AT's tricked out yet.
Jak
Thugs or Demons because they are hands free but also have a high entertainment factor. Srsly.
invun/fire tank in a S/L dmg AE arc. Set it wait to trigger ambushes. Go eat lunch.
come back reset
go do laundry
come back reset
Take a nap
rinse and repeat as necessary. 1500 ticks all afk. About 200-300 mill a day in bronze lvl 30 rolls

Mudpuds, granite/rooted, any PBAoE on auto.. Only downside is that +4 bosses tend to regen more then granite can ditch out :P There is really no worry at all about him, takes ages so very very relaxing.
Awww man, Granite was already mentioned
I have 67.5% recharge bonus from sets, so removed the recharge penalty from granite. Really does a decent job.

Hands down my sm/wp brute. Even before he was IO'd if I only had 20 minutes to play and just wanted to have a fun time smashing things I could take a Council paper mission, set it to x8, and just wade through worry and stress free as the enemies fell before me.
I still do that. If I haven't played the game in about a week he is the first character I log in, and Archon Leery is the first guy he spikes into the ground with Seismic Smash for mission completion. |
I enjoy doing this also. Smashing the council with rocks never gets old.
I would say my Thug/Dark Is my most relaxing set.
Okay, we've seen most-fun, we've seen fastest, we've seen best farming, heck, we've even
seen "most colorable powers and auras". (I asked, and Captain Chroma is now a dark/dark tanker.) What's relaxing? Say you're going to solo. What do you play if you want a mellow, relaxing, evening of punching dudes in the face, shooting them, or whatever, without spending a lot of time watching your insp tray or mashing buttons? |
Piece of cake - it's any of my (several) stalkers.
Wanna kill a standard 3 spawn? AS #1, Placate #2, Crit & finish #3, and
then go back & kill #2... 5-10 secs tops. 10 to 15 (???) button presses, total...
Don't wanna kill a spawn? No Problem - ignore them and wander on by to the
next thing you want to do...
Just want to wander to the back of the mission and click the glowie? Fine.
Inspies? In an evening play session I could count (on 1 hand) the number
I'd use all night...
The Pace is whatever you want it to be...
Now, is it optimal for rewards? Certainly not...
If I want *that*, I dig out a Brute...

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.
For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
Bots/Pain MM. Walk through map, pets do all the work, and you have a +regen and a heal aura to keep them alive. Or really, anything /Pain. It's not really a heal set because you don't care if anything dies - that just means you get a buff! It'd be perfect for Vigilance, but Defenders don't get it.
If you actually want to do something yourself, Stalkers and Tankers are the "relaxed pace" melee ATs - Tankers because they can take the incoming damage and take longer to fill out attack chains, and Stalkers because for the most part they aren't even being attacked until something drops.
Fortunatas are also fairly relaxing. High defense, mezzes, mez protection, and they can be sneaky also.
