Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence Trailer

Perhaps Snipes will do Blade 4: We apologize for Blade Trinity.

As to the previous GR film, it blended nicely elements from the 60's, 70's and 90's GR comics, the main flaw wasn't Nic Cage, but rather that they went for PG 13 rating. This....is....GHOST RIDER......not Spiderman or Superman. Ghost Rider is not a character for comic fans of all ages. the first movie should have amped up the fights, dumped some of the jokes and went for the R rating. I still like the first movie though despite that.

Just view the new trailer, liking what I see. These people seem to understand that GR isn't a "nice" hero like Spidey.

As to the vomiting the bullets, that reminds me of a scene back in the 70's GR series when Blaze/GR caught a vial of nitroglycerine that was thrown at him, drank it and laughed as it exploded in his head without harming him.

That was another issue I had with the film. Ghost Rider and Wolverine both need a Hard R rated film to be fully enjoyed.

Mark Steven Johnson isn't directing this. That's already a step up...hell, it's an escalator.

Indeed, Wolverine may be an honorable man at heart, but on the outside he's more of a berzerker warrior. Plus the fact that he has retractable razor sharp indestructible claws. Anyone he faces with the claws should be carved into pieces.....

As much as I enjoyed the 90's X-men cartoon, how many times did Wolverine face a robot, someone in a suit of armor, or someone with a hand held weapon that he would slash with the claws instead of the person using the weapon?.......oh I'd say about EVERY fight. Didn't care for X-men Evoluton (Cyclops a student and Wolverine/Storm are teachers...?????) enjoyed Wolverine and the X-men as it was a bit grittier but they still held back on what Wolverine could/should do.

Ah, this makes me think of how gloriously bloody X-Men Origins: Wolverine the game was.

According to an interview I read, Cage said that this isn't a sequel despite the fact that he's returning for the part. He said the first film was like Ghost Rider viewed through a Disney lens, and that this one is supposed to be darker and more violent.

One of the rare instances that a game based on a film is actually really good.

I noticed that instead of the typical Marvel logo in the trailer. Saw the Marvel Knights logo being used. So who knows, maybe in a few years might see some Marvel characters brought into movies under the Marvel Max logo.

They can claim its not a sequel all they want, but it's a sequel and not a reboot.

Hm Marvel Max movies, the key to getting a movie that apologizes for Punisher War Zone....

War Zone itself being an apology for the horrible Thomas Jane Punisher, aka Friends: The One Where Frank Castle Moves In.

All Punisher films have been terrible, I'm not sure how they manage to keep doing it, it's not a particularly complex concept.

Those friends/neighbors were taken directly from the Marvel Knights Punisher series titled "Welcome back, Frank" after Garth Ennis restored the Punisher to life after that stupid mini series where he was an agent of the afterlife.

Overall the Tom Jane Punisher was the best of the 3, main problem I have with it is that Travolta forgot how to act.

I find it really hard to take that statement seriously when Disney has come to own Marvel Comics since the first movie came out.

Yeah I take that statement as a spin statement to help separate this next movie from the first.

Too bad it's not gonna work, it looks like a talk, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it's a duck.

This is a sequel, regardless of it ignoring the first movie or not.

Just like Highlander 3 was a sequel to the first one, though it ignored HL 2 and how Endgame is a sequel to HL 1 and the TV series that passes the torch to Duncan while ignoring 2 and 3.

The Highlander fan in me says "THERE WAS NO HIGHLANDER 3! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!"

The movie-goer in me goes "Highlander 3 wasn't a SEQUEL to Highlander. It was a complete fricking retread of Highlander."

Yes, good writing would help. However the characters need the right setting to be fully realized..and a good script for a pg-13 film is still a pg-13 film. We're talking about a soul searing anti-hero that melts his own face off to fight demons, zombies, and all around evil men...That sounds more like a rated R script. Plus seeng Ghost Rider say something stupid like" I'm going to kick your darn butt!" Doesn't mesh as well with the concept as what he can say/Do in a Rated R film.

As for Wolverine... I just really want to see him flip out in a berserker rage in a rated R movie. Blood, guts, swearing, and soiling of pants from those being ouchied must be had!

Yes, I know there can be only one, but there isn't just one.

And yes, while it is indeed a sequel in that the Kurgan fight still occurred, it ignored the TV series which was in Season 4 at the time, and was indeed mainly a rewritten HL 1.

Also HL5: the Source was so bad, I'd rather watch HL2

The irony of this upcoming GR Movie is that in the newly launched GR series, it starts off with Blaze accepting a faustian bargain from someone named Adam to purge himself of the Rider, despite knowing that it will randomly choose a new host. Blaze at this point is so sick of being the Rider and for all the constant lies about being an agent of the devil or of heaven that he agrees.

Preview I saw for the next issue is Mephisto telling Blaze that he's condemned the human race and that he must somehow stop this new GR, yet also tells him he can never be GR again.....which I suspect is the big lie right there and that before the movie launches Blaze will be GR again. Also in the preview we get to see Blaze punch Mephisto and laugh in his face....
