Seriously getting logged out of the forum is getting pretty annoying now...

Something interesting that happened to me the other day: i had a chat box open in the Facebook tab and the forums were logging me out every time i clicked on a different forum section. i closed the chat and the forums did not lose my info for about four days.

Now it happened twice in about three hours. Honestly, other than the one time i left a chat active in the Facebook tab, i've never noticed a clear pattern in having to log back in other than it happens once or twice a month on my Android phone and somewhere between once a day and once every four(ish) days on my PC. Although sometimes it'll happen twice in an hour and then be fine for another day or more.

Actually, it's the lack of any obvious pattern or trigger that makes it so annoying. Most consistently i have to log in at least once a day, but the interval seems to be very random otherwise.

I'm past the point of anger now and into the laughing at the absurd stage.

I logged in for the 1st time tonight, had a full wall of subs to look through, clicked one and BAM logged the frak out. I was logged in for less than 1 minute... Just like that, everythings marked read...

This problem is definitely getting worse for me as well. It almost never happens on my work computer, but on my home PC and iPad it happens multiple times daily.

Wow. Not even 5 minutes on the forums and I get logged out.

Can you all fix something please? Freedom is down, up, down, up, down and when I come to the boards I get logged out twice in a few minutes.

I don't want to start avoiding this game.

Not a guarantee of a solution, just a potential thing to try. See this post I just made in the other thread.

As I said, I'm not sure this is a solution, but given the annoyance level this bug is generating I thought it was reasonable to post about a potential workaround even if it does not yet pass my normal confidence level for such things.

Logged out twice today already...

It's getting to the point where my motivation to be on the forum is lessening. I even had the thought of trying to come on here, but then thought how I knew I would get logged out since it's been happening a lot as of late. I come to the forum and I'm already logged out. *sigh*

If they are using Kerberos to authenticate between the forums and the authentication server, it could be something as simple as the clocks on the two systems being too out of sync. It doesn't take much.

Still, once the forum has authenticated you and set up the session, this shouldn't be a factor. Kerberos issues should only show up during the authentication process itself (when you are logging in).

Someone needs to create a plugin for Firefox and call it J-Kick. Then, any time you get logged out of the forums (without selecting log out), some random guy shows up at the home of whichever developer is responsible for the forum software, and gives him a good swift kick in the jimmies.
