Double XP Weekend vs. Ossuary

So, I am engaged. Hurray! My friends and I decide to have a good old fashion LAN party. Hurray! It just so happens that the date for our party lands on double xp weekend. Huzzah!

Then double xp weekend gets delayed. Boo!

Then double xp weekend is set up for this weekend. The weekend of my wedding. The one weekend where CoH will not be getting my attention.

I got 2 people to re-sub for the LAN party, and not only do they move double xp weekend, but taunt me with it by making sure I can never have it.

In all seriousness, I am thrilled to be marrying my best friend in this world. Really, CoH isn't even in the same ballpark of importance to me (sorry devs).

Still, since it looks like it will actually start on Thursday, I MIGHT be able to get a few missions in with my Dominator that I have just started to really enjoy. That I was hoping to get up in levels. At the LAN party.

First, congrats.

Second, does the future spouse play COH? If so, cue the short-short-version of the wedding and start your marriage off right with level-pacted characters conceived on your wedding night. Everyone lies about their wedding night anyway, so you may as well take advantage of the fact that people think you'll be celebrating the rites of spring all night.

Third, why not take a bit of time from that weekend and have an in-game wedding? Invite your COH friends who couldn't come to the actual shindig and party it up.

I'm in a similar boat. I have to go to a wedding this weekend. Stupid, happy people with their stupid, successful relationships...

I can share in your pain, OP. I have a family reunion this weekend with people I've never met or heard of in my entire life.

Not only that, but I can't take my laptop along with me because my charger died on me at the last minute, and Best Buy is taking their precious time sending me another one. (Last time I ever buy Black Tie Protection from them again. Walmart is better than them.)

But I digress. Maybe we'll see another one once Freedom launches.

EDIT: Maybe the beta will be so horrible that they have to postpone it again!

Ways to tell Ossuary slipped in some City of Heroes during his wedding/reception/Wedding night:

* His wife was the only one NOT getting the Level Ding Rush every few minutes.

* His repeated disappointment that no one bought him the Wedding Pack as an appropriate nuptial gift.

* The best man's toast? "Gratz!"

* Macros really help you play with one hand while shaking hands with the other in the reception line.

* Repeated nervous checking of his combat numbers to see if Defense and/or Resistance versus Anullment has popped up.

* Despite multiple attempts, wife will not buy the "but Stephanie Peebles gives the Wedding Ring temp power" as a viable omage to marriage excuse.

* SHE threatened divorce if he didn't get off the computer; shortly after HE threatened it if she didn't turn back on the wi-fi.

* Sister Psyche shows up to commiserate with yet another hero-widow.

* Like her husband, Mrs. Ossuary turns to electronic means of fulfilling a need.

All kidding aside... Congratulations on your marriage! I wish you the best of luck and many, many years of happiness.

They gave me a birthday present of Double XP. Then they became indian givers and took it away from me. Then they said I could have it later, WHEN I DIDN'T HAVE THE WEEKEND OFF, YOU JERKS.

Mrs. Lantern and I have planned our weekend together AROUND 2XP weekend. You can do it too, Ossuary!

The afternoons dispatcher quit, which means I have to work this weekend. 11 hours on sunday alone. Of course he also picked a week where we have a dispatcher on holidays to quit without notice.
