The kind where you send them $125, I'm guessing. ($125 x 400PP/$5 = 10,000PP)

This will be live when Beta comes up tonight (fingers crossed, knock on wood, spin around in a circle and spit over your left shoulder).
Any word on whether we'll have our proper number of reward tokens?

Yeah - I had planned to stampede the server as soon as it opened but family time interceded so tomorrow it is!

(or tonight when I get back home if someone hasn't initiated server meltdown sequences)

It's been a while since I've accessed the test server. Just so I'm clear on this:

The Beta sever is the second sever that shows up under the training room sever from time to time on the COH Test sever list. So you would actually launch the COH test then click on the "Beta" server. It doesn't have a separate link to launch it, right?

I'd much rather ask a pointless question and be sure than not ask and find out that I have to start all over again.

Nope, the Beta Server is it's own unique installation of the game.

Anybody have a link to that old "how to get on the beta server" thread handy?

Edit: Friggin' DUH, it's in the OP on this thread.

according to that link the NC Launcher is suppose to have a selection for the Beta download but I don't see it on mine.

Not until YOU create it.

Quote:
If you have NCsoft Launcher but do not have COH Beta installed.

1. Run NCsoft Launcher shortcut to get the latest update.
2. The NCsoft Launcher will start.
3. Create a copy of the NCsoft Launcher desktop shortcut.
4. Right click on the new shortcut and open the Properties option.
5. In the Target window, add the following flag to the end of the line:
[space]/LaunchGame=CohBeta
6. Run the shortcut.
7. The NCsoft Launcher will open, starting a City of Heroes Beta installation.
8. Click Install.
9. If you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7, confirm the UAC prompts. (if UAC is turned on).
10. After the installation completes, double-click CITY OF HEROES BETA in the NCsoft Launcher’s games list to play.

Not a problem, dude.

Just be advised, it's a pretty huge download. I'm seeing people say it's in the vicinity of 6GB.

These will start the NCLauncher with the Beta server selected for install, then just click "Install Now" if you need to.

Yup can either use the NCLauncher to select the game or use the launcher to set desktop icons for each, drag em into your games start menu and insta load each version via the launcher, patching on the way through, tip tho check the guide thread...

I use the launcher itself to organize the patches and the per game (live/test/beta) icons to jump straight from the start menu to the selected version.

Assuming your normal launcher shortcut now has the entry to start the CoH Beta then yes.

Sorry if this question has been answered numerous times already and is a little on the less smart side, but since this is the Issue 21 beta, and we have access to the paragon points, does this also mean that we have access to all the new powersets? If so... I know what I'm doing later...

Yes. Since they're giving us 10,000 points, we'll basically get to test everything in the market.

Unless there'll be quite a bit more in there for sale then I think... which would certainly be awesome.

Time Manipulation is included for VIP subscribers (that is, anyone who will have access to tonight's starting round of beta), and Beam Rifle and Street Justice are apparently available for purchase in the store.

Z said that access to Street Justice would be time-limited, but made no mention of a limitation on Beam Rifle other than "it should be available."

This is a good thing as the devs can datamine server performance on various stuff for the real launch.

ok... What will happen to the old tutorial badges? I know that the Contaminated badge can be obtained by slowly killing the contaminated in RV when the zone is under villain control.

What about the jailbird badge?

Can the devs create an instance to obtain that badge temporarily access it on our older toons?

These have both been accessible via Ouroboros since it launched in Issue 11.
