Targeting Self
AFAIK you haven't been able to target yourself in City of Heroes since... well, long before May 2004. This is by design and a basic aspect of the game engine.
i must admit that i'm surprised that you were able to target yourself in 2007 since i've never heard of anyone ever being able to do that.

i make stuff...
I haven't played since 2007 or so, though on my mastermind I use to heal myself clicking my level icon. Though, it isn't allowing me to do that anymore. So I've been trying to find away to target myself and at best I've come up with...

ive been playing since 2006 and i dont think ive ever been able to target myself
i think you may be misreading something, do you happen to play a merc mastermind? you might be confusing the medics heal with another heal power
or using aid self to heal self and not remembering
trying not to rule out any possibilities

I didn't misread or assume anything, I KNOW I was doing this from 06-07. If it was some bug or something then alright I wont complain. If its how it is great so no issue there.

At my best guess, I'd say you're remembering using Respites and other healing inspirations

there is a way to appear as if self-targeted - ie: bounding box and name appearing above character - had it recently when teaming up for an ITF. It doesn't mean the character is targeted though

Yeah, I've been playing since 2005 and there has never, ever been a way to target yourself, for healing or anything else. You have to use powers (or inspirations) that target yourself specifically or PBAOE powers.
StarGeek: the level number wasn't added until...Issue 18 or 19? Last year sometime, I'm pretty sure.

You couldn't even target yourself in late beta. It's never been a feature of this game. The Op is misremembering.
Hi Everyone,

No, seriously, you weren't. Otherwise more people than just you would have noticed it and talked about it. That isn't the type of bug that is kept quiet.

Pretty much everyone is saying the same thing at this point.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill

Given what I know of several of the posters here I'll have to go with "everyone except the OP is right".
It also matches my own experience. You can't target yourself and have not been able to since (at least) late February/early March 2004 when I got into Beta.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

/target_name Viridian Crane
And it says "No entity name matching 'Viridian Crane' found within targeting range."
I've tested it on my ninja's and it dosen't work ether, though it will work with NPC's and enemy target's so I have to wonder if the target_name is only for grey / hostile names and there is a different command for friendly targets but I can't find it.
I've also looked under options with key-mapping under targeting but they have no target self. So I'm kind of at a loss as to why? Other then they aren't allowing me to target myself or something or I'm just not finding something very simple and trying to make this to complicated. Any help would be most appreciated thank you.
