So far, being disintegrated seems to be as lame as it sounded on paper
disintegration does -% of your hp in unresistable dmg
the first 2 ticks are fairly weak (around -10% and -20%) but the final tick is -99% of your hp
so if you have 2000 hp the final tick will hit you for like -1980 dmg so if you are not being healed while it is going off, you WILL die
Can you fly out of range before the last tick? Jump out? Run out? Teleport out? Or is it just autohit, you die, end of story?
How much time between the heavy hits?
Be well, people of CoH.
its like your basic DoT attack, once it hits you it will start DoTing till it finishes
if the attack does kill you it fully heals antimatter, if you do not die antimatter loses all his end
IIRC the time between each tick was around 2-3 seconds
so it would do -10% then -20%, then -99%, if you survived all 3 ticks antimatter would lose all end
i dont remember all the specifics, but i know if you type [disintegration] in game you can look at the stats
so people dont like reichman cos of its high HP..and people dont like too much dps at them..so how can a final av be powerful then? dont forget theres 24 people to fight antimater.
Does it have some sort of ultra obvious visual cue? Like some giant pillar of light screaming "ALL HEALERS DOGPILE ME RIGHT NOW", at least?
You mean there's finally something in the game that requires me to be awake to finish?
Sounds awesome, frankly.

Hunt for any of my posts complaining about AVs having too high HP or requiring too high DPS. Good luck.
There's plenty of ways for AVs to be powerful without requiring gimmicks that specifically tie the success of the whole fight to a select few. As I said, for example, remove the heal part of disintegration and increase his resistances/HP/regen rate to compensate.

Here's a newsflash for you: this game has about a hundred thousand subscribers. That means a hundred thousand different people with different opinions.

most of the poeple dont like reichsman because he has 90% resist to all dmg AND 220,000 hp, if he had one or the other not that bad
At first I thought the Disintegration effect sounded cool, when it was described on the 20.5 announcement page.
But then I heard Anti-Matter could Disintegrate multiple targets. Izzat true?

Oh no, NO, I'll have to use strategy? This sounds far too difficult. |
I can see why a simplistic system returning to the roots of the Heal/DPS/Tank would appeal to you.
This sounds awful.
Gah. Another trial I won't see.
Can we have some content for solo players, please?
Eco.

The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
There are enough other ways of healing (Destiny, or y'know, greens) that it's not really a problem as long as you pay attention.
EDIT: And there's a combat medic in the hospital.

Picking a specific powerset is what you consider strategy?

Hate to break it to you, but everything in this game is pretty damn simplistic. Something that requires you to actively pay attention is a huge plus in my book.
And are you not allowed to bring green inspirations or use lore pets for this raid?
EDIT ^^^Or destiny as mentioned above? The fact is, EVERYONE has access to heals, not just healers. Also, healers are (were) the most useless thing in this game because +res and +def are pretty easy to cap for an entire team. Nice to see them becoming useful.

With all the other auras and glowing entanglement and orbital laser stuff going on, you can't exactly pick out the target. The complete and utter reliance on massive heals for this trial turns me off of it, which is a shame because it is actually a fun trial.

The "raid task" window should be changed to show the person hit by Disentgrate and their HP, and let you select them by clicking there.
I was going to make that suggestion in the feedback forums, but was too busy raging about the grind of the trials.
Bubblers aren't entirely useless. Their main bubbles are, yes, but Repulsion Field and Force Bubble are handy for people trying to hack the terminals in stages 1, 2, and 3.
But yeah, I built Destiny Rebirth for a reason.
This is going to be a rant. This is NOT going to be a rant about the Keyes trial being supposedly impossible to complete or even too hard. If you choose to read it that way, you have only yourself to blame.
So I tried Keyes, on a melee character, on a PUG. Everything was pretty fun up until the final fight with Antimatter. Not only there's a bazillion special things going on at once that apparently require you to not fight near other people (super nice for meleers when there's only one target in range) and sometimes move away from the only target in range (see previous parenthesis), but disintegration apparently either ignores resistances or does ludicrously high damage, seeing as I took ~1900 consistently on the 4th pulse.
The only thing that seemed to help were... heals. Heals, heals, heals.
This seems so very ludicrously silly to me. This game went away with the Holy Trinity, why reintroduce it in the highend game?
Not to mention it makes empaths and pain domination much more effective at the task than, well, pretty much every other powerset out there including most of the other support powersets. I'm sure many bubblers feel super happy about their effectiveness in the new trial, that is, the remaining three or four players that still play one despite getting shafted again and again by the endgame.
Merely getting killed would be frustrating but, I guess, sort of bearable ; but the fact that it regenerates a huge chunk of Antimatter's health is so completely silly. Basically, if a very specific subset of specific ATs isn't on the ball, you're screwed. I mean, I can see that I could carry greens for myself and spam as needed to survive, but what about all those other guys being disintegrated? Not a chance everyone or even half of them are going to pop insps, in a PUG.
To me, the success of the whole league is basically tied to how well the few people with ally healing powers perform. Green numbers or die. Yay for diversity.
It's too bad, because I really had a blast with the trial up to that part, and even the Antimatter encounter with all its melee-hate wouldn't be so bad if Disintegration just killed people rather than healed him (I could see his stats being beefed up to make up for that, obviously, so *everyone* would be useful in bringing him down rather than, you know, heaaaaallzzzz).
On another note, the pulse damage during the earlier phases kills you through the invulnerable part of self-rezzes. Sigh...
