What in the great googly moogly is up with Stateman's face?

Because he's sandbagging.

It's kind of funny how Recluse has become an afterthought.

It's all the brown. He kind of blends in, especially when you consider how dingy the Rogue Isles tend to be. Now compare him to Emperor Cole. That's why he's been getting less and less exposure.

Dr. Todt's theme.

What everyone is failing to realize is the "true hidden agenda" within the picture.

This is very plain to see on almost every heroic encounter picture shown to us in North America.

We (a North American *we* that is), have been taught to read left to right.
With that tidbit, we now take a look at 'history'.

History has shown the vast majority of the time....
Good guys on left, bad guys on right.

Comics show this when facing two groups a lot.
Our own CoH shows this and the background image (if you are using the hero background).

Yet.. States is now on the right side, and the ACU is on the left.

This is clearly a Praetorian subliminal message planted by Cole and his lackeys.

REBEL I say.. rebel against the image!!!!

Force David to redraw a new image!
One that clearly shows the good on the left.
One that clearly... doesn't show an awkward pose for States .. geeze that IS awkward!

I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

As for his arm, I'm thinking he's going to bring around a nice left hook as his target closes in.
They're both moving closer together, likely very quickly.

Anyway... Don't know why anyone has a problem with the face, but I do love the use of "great googly moogly" so all is good!

I know you were all wondering this, so I did some checking, and according to my research:

Great Googly Moogly

...is available as a character name on Victory, Pinnacle, and Liberty. And possibly the German and French servers too, I didn't check those two.

In a related note:

Nattering Nabob

...is available as a name on Victory, Guardian, Virtue, Infinity, Protector, Liberty, Chamption, Triumph, Union, and Defiant.

Sadly "Nattering Nabob of Negativism" is probably too long. Otherwise I feel he'd be the perfect archenemy for the hero known as the Great Googly Moogly.

Somewhat related question (that I asked on another thread):

Has anyone else noted that ALL of the IDF Commanders have the same face as Emperor Cole?
Is it a simple case of texture/model re-use, or something... more?

The posing still seems awkward and really off handed.
Ignore the original and make a new unique one to see if you can improve on what they did.

It could be some of Tyrant's DNA being used to make them tougher - he already has his clone army project with the Olympian Guard, so the IDF Commanders could be some kinda of test run.

The cape position causes problems, becuase it implies movement from the left - in other words, coming form the same direction as the Clockwork, rather than the more logical arrival from the right.
The actual punch would eb quite powerful - I tested the positon myself, and twisting the waist while using the momentum of your body delivers quite a strong blow, as long as the arm is straightened before impact, rather than swung accross teh front of the target.

to be frank, I hard no idea DN was the artist to these at first since they did look pretty radically different from some of his other artwork I've seen.

I want to know why GG is holding the CoH logo while attempting to punch the mechanical monstrosity. It's not going to break if it falls. In fact, I don't think it can fall...

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

All impacts should end in a snap 2 inches behind the target and never ever fully straighten out your arm. That could end up with you damaging yourself.

Bonus points if you can recognize where the quote from the snap comes from.

You need to straighten Statesman's wrist so that the force is transferred from the arm to the end of the fist instead of buckling the wrist.

Also, it'd be better if the elbow were lower, closer to the ribs, and infront of the shoulder instead of above the shoulder line and behind the shoulder
and some more indication of torque from the waist

But mostly the wrist needs straightening or Statesy end up spending some of his power stretching his ligaments and tendons in his wrist instead of giving it to the ACUs face.

see below as examples

all imho
