Steampunk Bots for Masterminds
Well then, we're gonna need alternates for every pet. Paragon Soldier uniforms/Firebase Zulu uniforms for Mercs!
(Steampunk bots would at least look better than the ones we have now!)
The more variation the better! I like it.

While we're at it, I want some 1930's style gangsters for my Thugs/Traps MM.
I might actually pull him out of mothballs if this were to happen.

178774 Tales of Croatoa: A Rose By Any Other Name ( 2009 MA Best In-Canon Arc ) ( 2009 Player Awards - Best Serious Arc )

Some sleeker, more high-tech looks would be nice too.
Hello? Is anyone there?
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Personally, I want some kind of "space soldiers" for mercenaries. Think Star Wars storm troopers or StarCraft Marines or, hell - I'd be satisfied with Arachnos uniforms, actually. They're sufficiently "weird"
Which is to say, I agree with the general idea for customization of not just Robotics but all Mastermind primaries in general. In fact, I think I can make a list just off the top of my head.
Mercs
1. Soldiers - Wolf Spider Enforcer with rifles
2. SpecOps - Night Widows... With guns!
3. Commando - Bane Spider Executioner with an omnigun
Demons
1. Demonlings - multi-coloured Hordelings, with or without arms
2. Demons - Behemoth Overlords, using the same animations
3. Demon Prince - Blade Prince
Robotics
1. Drones - recoloured Wolfpack Robots
2. Protector Bots - Hercules titans
3. Assault Bot - Zeus Titan
or
1. Drones - Clockwork Gears
2. Protector Bots - Clockwork Dukes
3. Assault Bot - Clockwork Prince
Unfortunately, something came up, I lost my train of thought and I got nothing for Necromancy and Thugs.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Oh and to make sure theres no confusion I'm just talking about changing the skins on the current henchmen, not creating a whole new powerset.
Mastermind alt pets skins for a booster like the steam punk...
- Zombies > Vampires
- Robots > Steampunk brass bots
- Thugs > Gangsters
- Demons > Edgar Allen Poe Other dimensional Horrors
- Soldiers > Soldiers (Victorian skins)
As animation and powers stays the same... this should be a possibility.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!
Wouldn't argue against it - but doesn't this fall under the "Much harder than it looks / would take a lot more time than you think" category of dev comments? Or have they mentioned it looking more doable?
Would I want it?
Yes.
Would I be willing to pay for it? Just as I paid for the other packages?
Yes.
Don't play Masterminds.
I'd still get the pack.

As Herc said Mafia Gangsters vintage 1920-1930's for thugs.

I'd like to see Necromancy henchmen get REAL skeletons, though - just bones. The Grave Knights were previously called Revenants and appear to have been called "Skeleton Knights" even before that since that's their system name, so apparently the development team did toy with the idea, but didn't go far enough. For my money, I'd like to see a full set of just skeletons. Skeleton brawlers, skeleton swordsmen and a skeleton sorcerer

I honestly don't know. I recall them saying that about letting us customize MM pet outfits like we can our own costumes, or am I misremembering?

Something more similar to alternate pet graphics may well be more 'doable' as it's just an alternate power label.
Let's Dance!
How about adding some of these to the list in addition to those already mentioned?
Ninjas = Modern Martial Artists (Kung-fu & Karate guys & gals)
Ninjas = Classic Movie Samurai
Zombies = Golems (Created, Frankenstein types)
Robots = Classic Clockworks (They have a wonderful Steampunk feel)
Robots = Praetorian Clockworks (Great for toons starting there)
Thugs = Pirates
Thugs = Clowns
Mercs = PPD,
Mercs = Longbow
Mercs = Wyvern
Demons = Red Caps
Demons = CoTs Demons
Demons = Fairies
Demons = Quantum's & Voids
Replace Longbow with the Military or X-Ray agents from FBZ/FBZ Military and I'll be happy.
Hm, but they'd need new power FX too. Steampunk creations don't shoot lasers, they shoot lightning! They don't use gasoline-powered missiles, they use steam-powered rockets!
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.

There are no rules set in concrete that state Steampunk technology can only use lightning as energy weapons, and rockets have been around since 9th century China and are a perfect fit with Steampunk mechanology. They don't need to be self propelled by gas or steam power. They could simply be launched by steam power and then the rocket/missles internal thrust ignites once it's in the air.
And before someone complains that rockets aren't missles, the only difference between the two is that missles have a guidance system and Steampunk technology is a perfect platform to explain why a steampunk robot would have guided missles instead of unguided rockets.
I believe the situation is customizing pet appearance in that manner results in a significant increase in the data throughput to the other clients when a MM is involved.

The drinking squirrel...he has good ideas. I have wanted alternate mastermind pets since CoV beta.
No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.

Though, for Steampunk bots, repurposing Nemesis content would be great. Nemesis guns (when held by his troops) have pretty awesome effects.
Even just being able to color them tarnished bronze instead of sleek stainless steel would go a long way.
Re: Lasers - They still work if you just call it a "Death Ray" instead.

Title says it all. I think that now that we have the cool steampunk booster pack we really need an alternate steampunk set of bots to choose from.
I figure the choice can be added to the same screen that lets us decide on what colors we want for powers. That was we can choose between the original bots or a steampunk version.
C'mon whichever dev is in charge of this (not sure if it would be sexyJay or someone that does powers) You guys know you want to do this. Stop lying to yourself and give us steampunk bots.
