DC Relaunching Everything in the Fall?
Something struck me about Superman's suit just recently.
We are told that in the first few issues we will see the evolution of the outfit to the more light armor that we see in Justice League. Maybe Superman knows about Kryptonite and its effects. Perhaps he finally smartened up and a layer of that armor-like suit is acutally lead to protect him from the brunt of Kryptonite's effects upon him.
Looks like the relaunch (not a reboot) is going to get off to a good start. Will be interesting to see how the order numbers look at the six month mark. I also wonder if many retailers will share how the books they ordered are selling to their customers. It would be very insightful to compare the Diamond orders to actual customer sales on an aggregated basis.

We knew the New 52 would have some big numbers, but the question was just how big, with so many titles launching at once and of course, subsequently the question will become how much of it can be sustained. But for September, this little bit of info alone would appear to indicate that the relaunch is a big success. And now retailers, DC, and even other publishers have an opportunity to run with that as people come into stores to check out these titles. Breaking the 100,000 mark is considered very noteworthy in the current market, and there have been months this year in which no titles have surpassed that level. Itll be fascinating to see more complete numbers on the relaunch, and what effect it might have on other publishers numbers. In the short run, it seems everyone in the comic-book industry will benefit. DCs flagship title Justice League No. 1 has pre-orders for more than 200,000 print copies, which would make it the bestselling title of 2011. Six other new DC No. 1s already have more than 100,000 pre-orders. |
Go Team Venture!
Well we just got it announced there is a cannon casualty...
Teens Titans and Young Justice aren't cannon because Teen Titans #1 will be the first meeting of those characters and that group apparently.
