1) Quadruple XP, influence, prestige and normal drop chances during the event.

2) 50th level characters will have incarnate salvage drop about the same rate as uncommon salvage for lower level characters.

People just might call in sick to work for this kind of incentive.
Ohhhh...not to mention the number of people buying server transfers would double or triple for something like this

SUDDENLY, BADGERS EVERYWHERE

Edited to actually contribute:

Hand out some free server transfer tokens (One to get in, one to get home) and reward participants with, say, Notice of the Well or Favor of the Well or something like that, and see what kind of reaction you get.

I think this might really be the case.

And now to add my gripes about the whole thing. The day when the invasion will be happening on my home server, I will not be able to be at my computer to participate. And I really do not care about what happens on other servers at all. I want to be able to fight off the invasion on my home server. I especially do not want to fight on Freedom. It's the one server I have avoided making characters on (I believe I made one there just to have one). I know a lot of other people that avoid Freedom as well. Really, this whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.

It's all about perception. If the perception is you are constantly late on deadlines or break promises, that is bad for business. It doesn't even matter how reasonable or accurate those perceptions happen to be. The end perception(not reality) is the only thing that matters.

In this case, we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

At the time we originally announced the go live date for GSA, everything was progressing on time and we were on target to hit the date. If we did not give the players enough of a heads up, they would be unprepared and surprised by this development. Also, consider we were going up against the Royal Wedding (something we could not consider in our development schedule), which while completely separate, demanded a lot of attention from players in the EU.

Unfortunately an unanticipated issue demanded that we push the date. In this case, we would much rather give our Community an overabundance of information and look bad in pushing the date back than to not give our players enough forewarning.

Good points. Sometimes that risk must be taken, like the reasons you just gave. In general though I've noticed Paragon Studios(and most other game studios) don't like to give dates when it can be avoided.

But like you said, in this case you're damned if you and damned if you don't.

In all my time of playing, i've believed this to be the default position for you guys. It is because of your willingness to address mistakes, try new things, and offer as much info as you can (as frequently as you do) that I continue to trust in what you ultimately decide. With how diverse we as a player-base can be, it seems like anything you might offer will be derided by some as too insignificant to participate and by others as too important to be missed.

I appreciate your willingness as a studio to continue to accept this risk and listen to our feedback, whether what we type is reasonable or less than so. I look forward to the Surge, whenever it occurs and whatever form it takes.

PS: Yogi: How could I have forgotten the most EXTREME! drink ever to come out of Norway? Thanks for the reminder.

Veridian Dynamics. Mistakes. We all make them. But sometimes mistakes lead to great discoveries. Mistakes are how we learn and grow... so we can do amazing things.
When you think about it, shouldn't you be thanking us for making mistakes? Veridian Dynamics. We're sorry. You're welcome.

This is a piece of software; if you don't give any predicted delivery dates or announcements about content until the product is perfect and out of testing then you aren't going to say anything ever.

Never mind event of Freedom, can we please get right time for EU servers.

Like I have noticed in previous post if events are from 10am - 1pm Pacific Time they can't be from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. British Time on Union and from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. British Time on Defiant.

Can you please check again when the events will be on EU servers?
