Patch notes for build 2010.201105021815.1.

COMBINED

  • Resolved a database issue which could cause a server crash under certain circumstances
  • Resolved a crash which could lead to an abrupt exit to the start of Incarnate Trials.

League
  • Removed the filtering of league-wide buffs from Patch 1 which was causing additional server processing.
  • An optimized filter of league buffs will be addressed in a future patch.

I really hope this fixes the issues with the Leagues that was causing so much lag when people were using their Incarnate Buffs and Pets with Buffs. (Hami Raid on Sunday was awful. :-( )

I also can't wait to see if I stop DC'ing while getting into the Trials. :-)

Thanks for the hard work on fixing these issues. Here's to happy thoughts!

My guess is that we will be back to the lag we had before the most recent patch but that the lag is still a work in progress.

Temp travel powers, AND TRAVEL POWERS THAT PEOPLE PAYED REAL MONEY FOR are still not working in PvP zones.

I ask again, is this WAI or is it still broken. Would be nice if SOMEBODY would at least aknowledge this issue.

Hello?

Anybody there?

If I'm reading this right, the old lag was fixed with a fix that created new lag worse than the old lag.

They just pulled back the fix that fixed the old lag and created new lag worse than old lag, which removes the new lag that's worse than old lag and gives us back the old lag, which, while still being lag, is not as bad as new lag.

Did I get that right?

I think I missed part of that because of the new lag... er old lag... er new old lag... old new lag.... uh... because of some sort of lag... I think...

I see there is nothing for the doors in the labs in Preatoria which have both red and blue doors overlaid. When the blue door is opened the red door remains blocking your path, thus causing missions to be uncompletable.

That also happens on the Lambda Sector Trial - but almost all the room have multiple doors, so we can still get the acid grenades

This bug got the best of me on Sunday. Very frustrating.

I haven't tried any trials yet. Did this actually fix the super lag introduced with last patch for real? Or are there new problems now? Can we finally run 24 man BAFs without giving up after 30 seconds of the start?

The 'old lag' was for people on narrow bandwidths where all the transmissions of everyone's buff status was slowing down their connection, but, not creating server side lag for everyone else.

They tried to fix that by implementing a show-buff filter, just like the one already in place for teammates. But they goofed in unintentionally giving the server tons more work to do causing server-side lag for everyone. And the more people on the league and the more league-wide buffs used, the worse the lag.

That bad fix has been reverted. A new fix is in the works.

I think I see what you're saying, which was pretty much what Avatea was saying but with more words. It's also like I was saying but more information and less confusing. So now what I'm saying is:

Old lag was only bad lag for low bandwidth users. To fix old lag, they made the server work hard, which created new lag that was server lag and not bandwidth lag, so rather than some people having bad lag it was everyone having very bad lag. The new very bad lag for everyone is much worse than old not so bad lag for some people, so the fix that turned old lag into new lag is being unfixed so that new lag will go back to old lag. There's a new fix in the pipeline to remove bad lag and hopefully not introduce new new lag worse than old lag. When the new fix goes into effect, the first fix will have to be called old fix to prevent confusion between new fix and old fix.

Ok, now I think I got it.
