Judgment powers unbalanced? Cryonic gets better above tier 1?

I have 2 characters with judgment: Pyronic core tier 2 and Cryonic tier 1.
My question is, I know Pyronic got DoT component, AoE is easier to aim, etc... But Cryonic is just lame. I cant even defeat minions in a big group, maybe a couple of them if im lucky. Pyronic erase most of them leaving ashes.
I really hope we can uncraft because I regret choosing Cryonic.
Anyone is using it? Gets better with tier 2? I picked it for concepts but now I regret it.

yeah. they each get better the higher you go. All the Incarnate powers do.

Hehe I bet on that.
But wanted some comments about cryonic. Its seems like a total waste to me right know.

I have a tier 3 Cryo with hold procs, it seems quite good to me.
Might also depend on the AT your character is, I'm not sure, but blaster and scrapper might do more damage than tanker or controllers.

You sure?
I think all judgment powers have the same stats for all archetypes.

I personally would go Radial for any Judgement power. Pretty much all Core Judgement powers do the same damage, including a 20% chance for about 37% more damage. With the exception of Pyronic's extra damage, the only difference between the Core ones is the location or max targets, and none of the Core ones have any cool secondary effects.

thats correct, judgement powers do same dmg regardless of AT

atm i have a tier 3 cryonic on my ill/cold toon mostly for thematic reasons

cryonic overall isnt bad, i have the partial radial tier 3 and its a 120 ft range with 45 degree arc which covers a very very large amount of area when aimed right

i can effectively kill a mob thats spread out since it has covers such a large area, and being /cold i can also seriously hit the baddies resists before launching cryonic

my usual chain is PA to group the baddies, then sleet + heat loss and then i fire cryonic judgement on them and it usually almost 1 shots most everything less than a boss

Cryonic has the same base damage as any other Judgement power. After any issues with mob resistance to damage, the difficulty is it's probably the aiming of the power.

Targeted AoE - Easy - Aim at the mob in the middle!
Chained - Easy - Aim at anything near an edge, in the middle, at the back of a group!
PBAoE - Easy - Stand in the middle then fire!

Cone? It's a little counter intuitive - you want to aim for the mob at the back of where you want to fire, and approach that way. As if you target the front and you're only just close enough in terms of range, that's all you're going to hit!

For anyone not used to aligning Ranged Cones, it can be hard to get a hang of!

You can craft something else. You can craft every single Judgement power if you want, and just swap them in the "Equip" window. I have Barrier Invocation for teaming (with the 2x rez) and Clarion Invocation for soloing (mez protection), plus Seer pets (for fighting Marauder in MoLambdas) and Warworks pets (for debuffs with pretty much everything else).

Just make one of each, try them, and see which one you like best.

i would craft more than 1 tree if it wasnt such a grind, i usually only pick 1 tree and stick with it and wont ever swap it out due to the annoying swapping rules + the fact its a huge grind to get the tier 4s unless the reward table favors rare components or you have a LOT of inf to spend

If you're aiming for Tier 4s, obviously it's going to be difficult to get more than one tree. But getting more than one Tier 1 is far easier.

yeah, getting up to tier 2/3 (3 sometimes depending on luck with reward tables) isnt too bad, but at the common level nothing really sets them apart except type of dmg and how the power hits the baddies (ie cone, chain, ect)

This, not interested in grind more than 1 choice for each alt.

I want an uncraft option for all incarnate habilities.

Remember, we asked for grind. We had "finished at 50" and we wanted "a lot more to do."

The cone for Cryonic is pretty massive when you get to tier 4. So far, I prefer it to Pyronic.

There was some talk that if you have the +damage alpha slot, that it might affect judgement powers. I never got confirmation though. I don't think that AT matters.

Also, enjoy variety and enjoy your concept.

The Tier 1's for all of the Incarnate powers were made easily obtainable on purpose. That way, you can see which power you like the most (at it's base) and upgrade/improve from there.

TL;DR
The Barrier for entry isn't very high.

(*tries to purloin GreenFlame's name, because her healing and Pyronic powers are powered by the sacred Green Flame, which figures heavily in her backstory*)

As I understand it all judgement powers do the same damage

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

Instead of uncrafting, they gave us the ability to swap them out without losing the previous one. I like what they've given us a lot more.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

The did mention the idea of being able to buy Incarnate respecs on the UStream dev Q&A, but it didn't sound like it was anything they were planning on doing anytime soon.

This.

Some of the powers in higher tiers have a chance for more damage against all enemies, a certain class of enemies or a chance for additional dots but at base they are all the same damage.

Ion is of course bugged now but they fixed that in the patch on test server now so thats going away sooner rather than later.

To the OP when you say you can't take out minions with it do you mean level 54 minions in the Trials or level 50 minions against your level shifted toon?

Ok I confirm I like Cryonic.
I crafted Tier 2 Radial, and now I can defeat lots of minions.
Also I customized the colours to light blue and it looks much better than the white default FX.
So, yes, is getting better. Im happy now with Cryonic.

just got rian his judge yesterday, was worried about this. i know ion's bugged nature was part of it, but cryo was kind of rare, and that was worrying me. and given rians name, i figured there was a thematic fit, still hope we get alternate anims, if he could breath it it would work amazingly.
