OK, yes, those were her words, but they were an item when she died, so it's a wash either way.

Most of the information with regard to GW/Wretch comes from Seer Marino's arc which seems to lean more towards the idea that they were friends before the mission and when Belladonna died she had been worried about him. As such she still worries for him.

Seer Marino states "Paolo was my older brother, but treated her as a second sister, and had volunteered to act as her back-up for a routine assassination."

He sees her as a Sister, not a lover.

I do wonder how long it will be before he gets fed up with these Praetorian interlopers, performs a system override on the entire Clockwork network, and goves Cole a headache the Resistance could only DREAM about.

To be fair, it's not about how "he sees her" as how "she sees him". Even if Wretch's feelings were non-romantic, that doesn't mean Widow's were the same. That said, Ghost Widow is, like, the least reliable perspective on her own situation anyway.

Agreed. I see that as a case of "unrequited love"... on both their parts. GW died never fully able to express her love to wretch, and as the dead can never change, she will forever be unable to do so.
