Lore for tankers

Looks like I'm going to have to pick something for this slot for my elec/fire.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on which lore pets they're thinking of taking

I don't really find any of them conceptually appealing, but there's a level shift involved so I have to pick... something.

I also hate pets in the city, if that is what you are saying. I f we could customize them, we could start a dialogue. Absolutely none of them fit my character concept. I would enjoy an option for just 2 glowing balls of light. In fact, i would run a MM finally if I could either customize pets or just get light orbs. With either, I could actually design a backstory instead of owning the ones the pets force you into.

Enough of my rant. I took seers, the least obtrusive (not by much) they do Psi-generally better. And I am going for the branch with the unkillable pet, the other always dies where tanks tread.

I picked Seers because the Seekers spam you with Fortitude. And there is a tier 3 and tier 4 option where the Seeker can't be targeted by enemies and all they do is just spam you with Fort.

I will just stay with the T3 for the incarnate level boost.

Out of curiosity what is the magnitude of that fortitude buff?

About what percentage of uptime does that have with T3?

Thanks for any info

Just a quick thought on the Fortitude buff given by the Seers. It appears that as of right now it only give typed defense bonus, and not positional defense bonus. No idea if this is WAI, but I was highly disappointed on my Fire/Fire Tank.

I'm going for Warworks Core for more damage. Sure they might die, but if I'm pulling enough aggro they should do their job for awhile.

I went T3 Invulnerable Seeker. All 7 typed S-L-F-C-E-N-Psi at 5%. The Fort is also +5% to-Hit +15% Damage. She keeps it on you constantly with a 2-3 sec drop every 30 Sec. She is locked on OWNER and does not buff/heal anything else (all the buff pets are like that for their Single target effects.) She tends to cast it one last time just as she times out so I get a bit over the 5 minutes total Buff. Works great to get me close to 59% on my Stoner. She even draws aggro when you are over 16 targets.

I am also going to try a T3 Warworks for the Vicky as I keep seeing raves about her DPS. I will not be pushing the Seeker to T4 as there is no benefit except a Boss partner that gets dissed for its combat power, and I think the Vicky is probably the way to go there (with a Invul. Buff Bot possibly.) I may also get a T3 Vicky/Lt. for the prisioners escaping part of BAF. Characters who can Buff/Heal their pets seem to be LOVING Vicky/Lt. They use it as a 5 min Nuke with a 10 min cool down (assuming they keep the pets full duration of course.) Note also: ALL T3 and T4 versions of each of the Invulnerable Buff Pets are Identical as far as can be told at this point. The only difference is the upgrade to a Boss partner at T4. So if all you want is the unkillable Pet don't bother with T4.

Re: Positional Defense. There have been Multiple Rants across multiple forums about the lack of positional defense buff in this version of Fort. My thinking is that as the other invulnerable pets don't give positional either, they had to neuter this version of Fort to maintain balance. So positional sets are just left out in the cold right now. Hopefully positional defense buffs will get fixed and added across all Pets.

Or you can do what I did and get both at T4 (Warworks and Seers )

That way if I need Psi damage I can swap out to Seers, otherwise I run with Warworks.
I tryed out the Seeker, and have to say the Fort is nice, but I like the extra Damage better.

I personaly don't care much about Vicky.. I would rather have to ACUs (both for looks and Concept). Something not to dismiss about the ACUs is thier packing -Reg on both thier range attacks.

I went with TohitDebuff/Reg Debuff, so my ACU double applies -Reg when he shoots something. This made a very noticable difference when I went pounding on a AV as opposed to normal. (the Extra DPS was nice to since I took the T4 with Damage Boost).

And thier is something to be said about the Seers pure Psi damage vs many targets. On a toon thats pretty much strickly Smash, having Psi damage backup can be very nice.

I'm actually not sure I need fort for current content.

T4 barrier on my already high res +modest def electric tank does not take much damage. I'm not granite, but I really don't think I need to be.

This said I haven't tried masters of lambda yet... though I was planning on waiting for T3 Lore before giving that a shot for the level shift.

I seriously don't expect to go for multiple T4s in Lore for this character, or for any one character. To be honest, with Lore, I seriously doubt I'd do multiple T3s.

This is what I did too.

I like Fort for the extra damage rather than the defense.

I totally hear ya there.

I'm not so sure you do, but, if the level shift is the motivation, look over your incarnate salvage, and see what ya have, and which Lore that gets you the most progress towards a tier 3 on, and go that route. Then you never even need to worry about the pet. Slot that lore, remove the button from your tray, and forget about it.

Or do you only get the level shift when the pets are summoned and on-scene? Have to admit I never considered this, and haven't checked to see if this may be the case.

No, if you have the level shift as long as you have a tier 3-4 slotted. Same as the Destiny level shift.

I don't know if this helps the concept or not, but the pets aren't really Praetorians. They're Well reflections of Praetorians.

Thanks for confirming. I had just assumed so, but realized I hadn't verified, and assuming, well, we all know how that can get ya into trouble.

That Vicky WarWork pet does quite a number on mobs... she's a buzzsaw with those blades. I took the Seers on my Fire/EM blaster and they're also useful... who doesn't like getting Fort?

I do hope they change this, but you should be picking up typed defense when you're building for positional, so it isn't completely lost. If you went Barrier with Destiny, it'll also add on top of that (this is what I am doing on my Fire/Fire).

Not as good as it buffing all types, of course, but I'll take what I can get. The Seer boss will help with your MoLambda badge too, since Marauder's Tier 9, etc., doesn't resist Psi as much (if at all). Not sure how the Seers don't do more damage... with other mobs, though... they sure rip up my tanks pretty well.
