I'm capped and still taking a beating with Incarnate mobs ??

I'm a bit confused and I am probably missing something. But I am Tier 4 incarnate and I am Defense capped but I notice that the incarnate mobs still are hitting me A LOT. I'm a Traps AR Defender so I have some hit debuffs as well. I just notice I take much more of a beating from them.

Is it that they just have a higher chance to hit above and beyond the norm for their levels ?

When I am getting hit I look over at my defenses to see if I am debuffed and I am not debuffed.

I have had less issues fighting an AV solo then I do fighting regular incarnate mobs.

So anyone know and can explain what I'm missing.

The enemies in the Incarnate trials and whatnot have a higher base accuracy average. If you're soft-capped to Defense by being at around 45%, then you're still about 20% short of the new Incarnate soft cap.

On the plus side, you're still getting hit less than people who weren't soft-capped before, though.

I see. That's good to know. My Bane was softcapped too and he was getting crushed on a regular basis. Looks like I'm going to have to add some +defense to my Incarnate arsenal.

In addition to scaling to hit bonuses on the 9CUs there's a few auto-hit attacks in the trials as well, I believe.

Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

Also the 9CUs stats ramp up the longer they're alive. And Battle Orbs give tohit buffs to their allies (and can appear in large numbers).

Ahh okay.. My Robot Traps is 10% over the cap so he is only 10% short. So getting that Bot with the FF AOE buff might be worth getting. Thought its only 5 minutes.

But again thanks for the insight.

I was running my widow with mid 60s on all defense with just solo buffs on a team where I was normally averaging 80-90 def with team buffs. It was like playing naked. On Lambda, at least, 80 def = 0 defense a large portion of the time.

I run range defense softcap and 85% resistance to all on my warshade, and I can still get in over my head. The acu's are monstrous if you let them survive long enough. Level shifts from lore and destiny will help you quite a bit, but team coordination will save you most.

Absolutely.

A team will usually provide enough extra Defense buff to get you to the new softcap. Or, they can mitigate damage, debuff the foes, control them, or heal you.

Toons used to running off and 'interacting' with the next spawn all by themselves until their team showed up will die in the Incarnate Trials. Teams that stay together have no problems.

Same here. My Fort with purple inspirations were still getting hit regularly. I believe a lot of their attacks are auto-hit?

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Good time to be a Crab/Bane.

EDIT: I call out the SoA, but really any Def buff toon will suddenly feel more demand. The proliferation of soft-capped toons kinda made them anachronisms.

Zombie's right, though, most times the team will buff enough. Heck, once teams of +3s start doing the trials or more of those players are rolling through them with teams, the trials will get less difficult.

I'd just like to point out that being "capped" and "softcapped" on defense are (as obvious as it is) two completely very different things

It's also worth noting that if you're only at 50/50+1, the bosses are quite dangerous even if you do have enough defense to softcap against them, especially for low HP ATs. Both boss types seem to have an attack or two that was capable of one-shotting my Dominator if it connected.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Found out the hard way about thier Location Superior Dot Toxic attack as well. I was over 100% DEF and Capped out Res and was getting mudered until I realized I was standing in a pool of this stuff x 6 O_o. Combine Superior Dot Toxic, with all thier Neg Reg debuffs = Big Ouchies for a Elec Tanker.

Yup, and with a widow, it doesn't take many auto hits to eat through all 7 of your HP.
