The Incarnate trials can be completed by a team without even having the rare Alpha. I know this for a fact.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Or to put it another way: If a trial that rewards planning and foreknowledge, has a tight time limit that makes it difficult to execute, and demands a high degree of communication and coordination is really what people want, regardless of what loot it hands out, why do I never see groups lining up for the Abandoned Sewers Trial?

I will not disagree with you that this is bad design. However, I am not sure we can take this as definitely true.

In all the trials I played, the tanks and brutes held aggro, the ranged damage people killed stuff, and the buffers and debuffers did their thing. There wasn't this widespread uselessness or ragequitting present in both the failed and successful raids.

You do not need the new powers or level shifts to be successful. I ran several successful raids where no one had the shifts - and yes, via the TuT. You can't put taunt on auto and go have a smoke, but by no means are any of the new incarnate powers or shifts necessary to beat these raids.

Oh, and to add: this is not a "gear reset." My IO'd defender vastly outperforms other SO builds. Of course, I did +HP and +regen instead of +def. Defense buffs no longer mean untouchable, but this is by no means any kind of action to "make everyone be mediocre."

Hey everyone, I know that right now the trials are an issue divided upon, but this thread has turned into flaming and flamebaiting. I have my display set to 100 posts per page, and pages 2 and 3 are nearly all flames and argumentation. This thread has ceased to be constructive, so I'm going to close it.

Right now there are many threads on Issue 20 content; I ask that if you wish to voice your opinion on the content you please use an existing thread instead of making a new one. As well, while EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO SPEAK THEIR OPINION, I ask that you all respect each other when doing so, and adhere to the rules of the forum.
